S. Rice has surgery on Hip

Post#1 » by The Duke » Tue Aug 24, 2010 3:27 pm

Its been confirmed by himself.

No timetable to return, tho inital reports say the beginning half of the season he will be out.

Disappointing that the decision to to have the surgery comes 2 weeks before opening day.

I hope javon Walker has something left. Isn't this Rice's contract year? That hurts.

Yeah, this sucks. Rice really came into his own last season. Vikes just traded Benny Sapp for WR Greg Camarillo for more depth. Berrian's going to have to step it up this year too.

Hopefully HARVIN remains healthy enough to pick up the slack with BB. If Walker and Camarillo can contribute maybe they can hold on until Rice returns. Houshmanzadeh?

Now, at 0-2, this is extremely upsetting. Had Rice opted for surgery in April or May even, I fully feel the Vikings would be 2-0 right now. The ability to put that big body in the end zone or across the 1st down line is the difference right now for Favre's inabilities.
