you have not seen this guy make 1 pitch in the big leagues ever, and you're ready to proclaim him better than a proven young starter? so just because you've read a few blogs and read 1 or 2 scouting reports you're ready to say hes better than maine?

give me a break.

fanboyism at its highest- and its getting disgusting coming out of your mouth.

So by that theory, John Maine > Philip Hughes?  '

You are delusional.

First of all, I don't like the name Skankee. You are in a Yankee forum. Not a Met forum. How about you stop using slanderous (and unfunny) names. Second of all, I don't appreciate your tone. You should watch your mouth or I would watch out for a suspension.

Third, would you like to ask me the question again? (kindly)

 I suppose "MUTS" is clever, witty and unslanderous?!?! You've dumbed your way out of the conversation...I can't be bothered...

 Oh boy here we go - the chief crier is back. Lemme make this real simple - we don't care what you call us - "Muts", "JV", whatever as long as you acknowledge the FACT that your time at the top of the NY sports scene is ancient history and our time has arrived.

Shouldn't you actually get to a World Series before you say this?

Shouldn't you win the World Series 26 times before you say you are the king of anything in New York? :)

I was waiting for that "26 championships" BS...ancient history and irrelevant....How many of those 26 world series championships have you seen??? Are you confident that you'll see another one in your lifetime? Look at the Knicks, the Yanks (there I called them by name :D ) are going down the same road.

The Yankees have the best minor league pitching in all of baseball. Going down the same road as the Knicks? sure...

Yes, I'm confident we'll see another Yankee championship in my lifetime.

Why you need us to acknowledge that our time has arrived ? for what ?
and what the hell did you prove that you can beat a lamed up manager and and a disgrace in Mike Myers, we got problems right now it ain't because of you. You got a good team how many times do you need us to say this but you haven't won jack. Pray we don't get this ship turned because if we do all of this crap your talking can come back.

So Sosa makes 2 good starts and he's better than anybody on our staff?

You guys were saying the same things about Alay Soler last year. Jorge Sosa sucks. He isn't good. He's having a bunch of flukey starts and he'll come back to Earth. Somehow Mets fans don't understand that concept.

In your opinion all of the Mets starters will come back down to earth. Is it hard for you to just give a Mets starter some credit? If Sosa or Maine end the year pitching good, you would probably say they had a fluke season and next year they will come back to earth.

All of your starters with the exception of Glavine are performing over their heads. It's the truth. The Mets starters aren't going to keep up this pace, they are going to come to earth soon. Here is what I expect from the Mets starters

Maine - 4.00-4.50 ERA
Perez- 3.00-3.75 ERA
Glavine - 3.50-3.75 ERA
Sosa - 5.00+ ERA

You're making excuses for your Yankees of today but, we can easily say we would have won that World Series if Mariano Rivera was our closer and you had Benitez. We definitely would have won game 1 but Benitez blew it.

So you cannot make excuses for the team you put out today. You still have a lineup with April-Rod, Jeter, Matsui, Damon, Posada, Abreu, Cano, going against our "crappy pitching." Your bullpen guys aren't hurt.

And if you're going to blame someone, blame Isiah Thomas errrr I mean Brian Cashman for putting this team together. If I were your GM, next season I would not have Damon, Giambi, Cano, Abreu, and April-Rod on the team. I would make it a priority to sign Posada. But the 5 I mentioned above have to go.

Comparing Isiah Thomas to Brian Cashman... you are funny majorleads.

How many times has Cashman been to the playoffs? How many times has Isiah been to the playoffs?

Let's not give Omar too much credit. He didn't draft Wright or sign Reyes. He got a bunch of free agents here and he's made some decent pitching moves.

Leads you haven't won anything yet ! when you do I'll give you all the credit in the world but all this crap talk when the team isn't even where it's suppose to be this is a Yankees forum talk how good your team is, yes we can even discuss baseball but if you think you can come in here and insult our team and we're going to stay shut you got another thing coming, I'm not talking about you but the posters who are doing it are starting BS in our forum and acting like lose 10 year olds, discuss baseball in here don't flame or get flamed on. :nonono:

And ignore his whole career? Nevermind the fact that he was getting very lucky in 2005 (.260 BABIP).

That's funny. You are probably the only person (along with your pathetic Met friends) that would take Maine over Hughes.

Again, I need to laugh.
