Its all on Jimbo, his inability to get anyone of use while giving away good mid-level prospects has been ridiculous.
Trachsel
Monroe
Both of whom have cost us games.
2ndly Lou and Jims choice to let our best prospect sit on the bench for nearly 2 months rather then play (here or AAA) has been absurd. * Note see Craig Monroe playing CF.

Cubs fans are hilarious. They hate their team so much, and when someone plays bad for a game, that player gets flamed like crazy. Relax, the team is healthy, the rotation is good, and you're forgetting that the Cubs are the best in the division. The cardinals have a lineup of Pujols, and Steroid users. The Brewers have the worst pitching rotation I've ever seen.
Remember the Cardinals had the worst record of all the playoff teams last year and ended up winning the World Series.
And you have Soriano, best player in the NL.

Are you kidding? Our rotation has been just as bad as the Brewers. On paper we have the best team, but that doesnt mean we will win the division.
4 of our 5 starters have an ERA over 4, one of which proclaimed he'd win the Cy Young.
Our power has been so bad that Michael Barrett is 4th on the team in HRs.
Dont come here and question us as fans we have the right to criticism them however we want. This team should be much better then they are playing right now and its just frustrating as hell.
I also just realized you called Soriano the NL's best player...LOL he isnt even the best player on his team.

Alfonso Soriano
AVG .295 | HR 24 | RBI 53 | OBP .332 | SLG .529 / 18SB
Corey Hart
AVG .292 | HR 20 | RBI 68 | OBP .352 | SLG .528 / 22SB
I could probally get one player off every NL team that is at least comparable to Soriano if not better.
Obvioulsy!

Soriano was injured for a long time. If he was healthy in a season, he'd get 40+ homers, 40+ stolen bases, .300 batting average, and 120+ RBIs and have 20+ assists. Soriano's got speed, power, defense, hits, everything. One of the most all-rounded players in the MLB. If I was a Cubs fan I'd praise him everyday. I'd trade Halladay, Glaus, Wells and our top prospect Adam Lind for Alfonso Soriano.

Well you might be able to get hired by the Devil Rays.

Do you even watch NL baseball.
Soriano has played in 117 games and has 500AB only 32BB and 109SO
Corey Hart is at 121 games and 431AB 32BB 85SO
I'm pretty sure soriano was only out for close to a month.
So please give me further evidence that you have never watched NL baseball.

I know Soriano is having a subpar year for himself this year, but he did play in the NL last year. Take a look at the stats.

I am not doubting soriano as a great player which he really is.
He has been solid for the previous 6 years. But with his current down year it makes me wonder if he slacked off since hitting the big pay day.
In no way do I think corey hart is a better player than soriano. I was just making reference to risktaker who claims soriano is the best player in the NL.
And you have Soriano, best player in the NL.
Maybe on paper he was coming in to the season but I think there are 3 players in the NL central that are better tahn soriano hands down and there a bunch more that are close to his level.

I think everyone knew there would be adjustments for Soriano to make and that he wouldn't hit his stride immediately this year. In fact, I look for next year to actually be his big year with the Cubs, a la Moises Alou.
You guys seem caught up in his offensive stats without realizing that he's turned into a pretty damn good corner OF.
13 assists this year, 4 double plays turned. Strong accurate arm, and fields his position pretty well.

He is a great fielder and will be for years to come but saying he is the best player in the NL is absolutly absurd.
