If ya'll get time, watch Blake Brotles in the Fiesta Bowl and Johnny Manziel at the Chik-Fil-A-Bowl. I know it's a small sample size, but Brotles does not look like a top 10 pick. Especially compared to Manziel. I mean there is a lot to like but he just isn't a top 15 pick to me. Some questionable decisions and struggled with accuracy. Manziel, I love his fire and energy, I would be worried with his durability. Sign me up for Manziel at 8 or Brotles in late first. Let me know what you think if you watch.

Already saw those bowl games back during bow season, cant watch them twice. Game performance in college is overrated to me, it's obviously important, but I think looking at a players skills is more important, looking at what will translate, looking at whether players have the traits that lead to NFL success, and what can be taught and what cant be taught in a player.

I'm just excited to have someone to bank our hopes on that's not Ponder. Bridgewater, Manziel, Bortles, Murray, Carr, Mettenberger, whoever... I'll be happy with one of them.

Icness talked me out of Mettenberger. I like the strong arm but he's immobile and inaccurate with character issues.

In no way do I want Bridgewater. I might even take McCarron over him.

Bortles at 8. Carr late 1st. Those are the only two I'd take in the 1st.

Which QB's have game experience playing in the elements? Savage, Garoppolo... anyone else?

Bortles played one last year against SMU. Not Minnesota bad, but there were snow piles on the sidelines so you know it was cold.

Bridgewater always wears a glove (except on a pro-day), so there's that.

I'm going to have a hard time warming up to Carr and wouldn't be surprised if he can't beat out Cassel.

No matter what QB we draft, I'd be shocked if any of them start a game in 2014.

manziel and bridgewater seem like they would come with a fair amount of pressure to start earlier since it could be argued they are the most "ready"

there will be pressure anyway on the organization to prove they got it right with whatever qb they draft, which is probably reason enough to wait and not take one at 8

i agree whoever should sit the whole year - no andrew luck in this draft i'm told

Shocked, really? How often do we have a starting QB healthy enough to play 16 games?

I don't know, I think this year is a good year for us to pick a QB, just because we've got a shot at the top tier. That doesn't happen every year.

A lot of experts seem to think there is no top tier this year. I've read more than a few places that teams don't have definitive first round grades on any quarterbacks.

I still haven't heard a good reason why Bridgewater shouldn't be a top10 pick even though everyone seems to have him dropping. The other 3 have various faults which I could see dropping them out of the first round, but I still like them all better than Ponder in 2011.

 I bet you've already talked yourself into Bridgewater, haven't you?

When you watch his game highlights on Youtube vs. his proday (also on youtube) you can see the differance in how the ball comes out of his hand with the glove on. Has some zip on his throws in the games that wasn't there at the proday. Here's hoping the Vikes got really fortunate and one of the best players in the draft fell to them simply because he didn't wear a glove one day.
