Rosenfels dealt for pick(s)... Take a shot at Leinart?

Post#1 » by maryann8ginger » Sat Sep 4, 2010 6:59 pm

The Vikings did Sage right by giving him a chance to be a backup. Hopefully they get a 4th back like they paid out. That puts TJ as the #2 and Webb as the #3 and utility back/ d back / special teamer wherever...

With Leinart being released, would you sign him on the cheap and give him a shot at the #3 for the season, put Webb on the the dev roster? If Leinart could somehow find his mojo from his rookie year/college, perhaps he could displace Jackson next summer. Just a thought. Leinart had nice stats in the preseason so something must be wrong in his makeup/character for AZ to cut him (or maybe it's the 6 mil bonus they would have to pay)? He had a 110 passer rating with zero turnovers, yet they chose Anderson over him who was their worst QB this summer.

I think the reason we trade Rosenfels is because we're willing to go with Favre, Jackson, Webb. I wouldn't expect to go after another QB.

There were about a half dozen QB names that interested me more than TJ, but that guy aint going anywhere

Additions I would like to see:

Id like to see Housh signed for WR in place of Eric Frampton. --- When Rice comes back Greg Lewis Released

Id like to see a backup DL man traded for a backup OL man.

Id like to see a Vet CB signed that was cut (likely due to a youth movement) - replace him with Mickey Shuler spot on the 53 roster (as he is PS material).... (Once Cook comes backs we release Lito Sheppard)

*
I wish they moved Jackson instead of Sage in that trade. I dont want Jackson here after this season. So I would be fine with them taking Leinart and releasing Jackson. (Tho that would never ever happen).

I'd also hope the Vet CB would be able to return Punts.

Wow the minute Favre goes down, if he even does, this season is over. T-Jack will not get it done. We shouldve kept Sage.

God no to Leinart. He's just pure trash & is no nfl quarterback. If anybody felt he could become something, he would be picked up by now, especially by the Seahawks.

I'm not sure we kept the right guy, but T-Jack can get it done for a game or two under the right circumstances, the same as Rosenfels.

I would have much rathered Sage as our backup, but Childress essentially made it clear that #2 QB was always going to be Jacksons. Theres was no competition. No matter how well Sage did or "poorly" Jackson did, it was just showcase to see if they could get something for Sage.

Im not suprised we moved Sage. Jackson is Childress boytoy. Now I'm surpised we moved Reynuard, as now we need a Punt Return (and I'd much perfer that our PR now be one of other regular starters).

I dont like Jackson for this team. I hope we dont resign him this season. But the realistic side of me is telling me that Chilly will try to get him back (if Jackson wants to be back).

I think even with Jackson at QB, we are a respectable team. The defense will always be there, and we have a solid offfensive unit(converted more to a run team with AP). But I dont think Tavaris adds anything hugely significant. I think we're a 9-7 team with Jackson this season due to the schedule (and more important placement of the games). With Farve I'd say we're a 11-5 team with the same schedule.

I really disliked getting rid of Reynaud. Jaymar Johnson will miss some time to, if not the whole season, most of it. So there goes our returners. We shouldn't let Percy do it. So I wonder what we do then. Greg Lewis still on the team makes me scratch my head. I would most definitely have kept Javon Walker.
