http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... abb_trade/Washington Times - The Redskins have agreed to trade quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Vikings in exchange for a pair of sixth-round picks, according to a report.
Washington would reportedly receive a 2012 sixth-rounder and a conditional 2013 sixth-rounder for the former Pro Bowler.
10:51AM Update: The trade appears to be in place, with McNabb's contract no longer a hurdle.
He will be making far less than the $14.75 million he would have been due were he to play for the Redskins this year, but the exact number isn't yet known.

Why? You can't judge McNabb on last year. The Redskins sucked, no O line, no running game, no wide receivers. Any QB will do bad in that situation, plus the coach was trying to prove he was boss.
McNabb will finally have a great running game for the first time in his career. It'll be fun to see what he can do.

Low risk, high reward move. I have no problems with it.
December 24th game against the Redskins should be an interesting one if all goes well.

i guess its a good deal for what we gave up
we'll see how it turns out i suppose, give ponder some time to develop on the bench

Making a move like this gives players the signal that they won't be rebuilding with Ponder and that team management still believes we are a contender.
There are bigger problems with the OL, secondary, and even our D-line is starting to fade. Outside of Kevin Williams, we have nothing. Guion could be solid starter but that remains to be seen. I think getting McNabb sets us up to be mediocre. Vikings still have an off-season to complete, but if those other positions are not addressed, there will be issues.

I'd call Jared Allen better than nothing, but yeah, I think we're mediocre at best this year.

I'm much more worried about the OL than the defense. DL and secondary lasty ear was riddled with injuries and underachievements. OL was just old and sucky.

I was more referring to our defensive tackles, I should have clarified it better. Allen & Robinson should be solid.

Thus far we are having a below-average Free Agency.
We Sign McNabb (win-now move) but (thus far) have regressed at both offense and defense.

"When you trade for a guy who has been a starter for 12 years, you're not bringing him in here to be a backup," McNabb said. "You're bringing him in here to win now."

I heard we were actually over the cap, so a poor free agency was to be expected.

We are slightly below the cap right now after the Bryant McKinnie cut.
