The Vikings have released former Pro Bowl left tackle Bryant McKinnie, according to a league source.

The player tweeted "Its been fun" on Tuesday afternoon, but didn't provide any context to that comment.

McKinnie, who turns 32 next month, had been Minnesota's starting left tackle since being drafted No. 7 overall in 2002.

he was solid most of the time, felt like he should have been great (he's as big as a mountain!) but he never really got to that next level

Close to 400 lbs he was is being reported... he deserved to be cut given that.
Its a shame Vikings didnt know his weight till after the free-for-all free agent period, but we could keep tads on him until he weighted in on the scale... placed him on NFI, then cut shortly after.

He is good, but could have been better.
I'd take another OT in good condition over a 400 lbs McKinnie (both in terms of expected on feild production and salary)

Maybe, signing with the Ravens may give him new found hope. Dude is talented, but his laziness gets the best of him.

They said he will be LT.
Look risk move by Ravens as the contract is incentive based.
We'll see what weight he comes into the Ravens camp with.
