qb situation

lets talk about the most important position

first is poor qb play our main problem with being so bad this year (or does the who's who in the secondary deserve some recognition)

next qb of the present: we're not going anywhere so who plays out the rest of the year, the colts are giving the first pick away so we're right in it now- should we try for it or just keep playing normal and trying and stuff. should ponder finish out the year so he can continue to learn and grow or should we take another ride on the joe webb train?

last: qb of the future: how set is the team with sticking with ponder (given his turnover struggles) and if we do happen to get the #1 pick, is luck the obvious choice or do we trade it for a bunch of picks to fill much needed holes? if we do not get the #1 pick should we trade up to get luck? or perhaps grab another qb if the team isn't set on ponder?

I think you've got to ride it out this year with Ponder. If your thinking about getting another QB, you want to be confident in your opinion. And I'm not sure he's not the QB on our roster who gives us the best shot at losing the last 2 games and getting the #1 pick.

As far as the draft, I don't know. Taking Luck probably gives us a franchise QB for 10+ years, but I think trading the pick would help with a quick turnaround. I'd like to see what offers would be on the table. I really liked Matt Barkley and I would have considered taking him at 2 or 3, but I haven't seen Robert Griffin and he's the other QB worth taking as high we're picking.

will the quick turnaround (trading the pick) really help us? getting more good players would be nice but still having a question mark (if ponder is still in learning mode next year :dontknow: ) hold us back

are we a bad team still with a good qb? if ryan fitzpatrick or someone like that is leading this team do we go 2-12?

although i think if we don't get #1 taking any other qb would not be good

Who needs Andrew Luck, we've got Joe Webb. Unstoppable.

yeah now we won, so that's out the window

i've always liked that joe webb guy, he's pretty shifty

i say we run a two qb system, rotate them or something (if that's even allowed?)

I think we should stick with Ponder/Webb another year. This team has far more issues than the QB position. I would like it if we actually traded down to pick up extra picks but we're good at drafting, at least after the first round.

Draft an OL and grab a WR in FA. More help we can get, the better our QBs will look.

what about that corner from lsu that i've seen us taking at #3, would he be good or do we need more picks rather than one really good one

I'm not overly enthusiastic about either Ponder or Webb. I haven't seen RG3 play, but I'd consider taking him with our pick. Most likely though we'll stick with Ponder and Webb. I'm guessing Ponder will be out this week against the Bears, if Webb has another good game there has to be an open competition next year.

Claiborne would be the guy I want most at #3, after Luck and Kalil, but I wouldn't be against trading down either if we got a good deal.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder has passed all the necessary concussion tests and is ready to come back for more against Chicago on Sunday.

Ponder saw a neurologist on Tuesday and was cleared to play, so he will start in the season finale. He took quite a beating last weekend against the Washington Redskins, who knocked him out of the game in the third quarter with a concussion.

I guess, but I wanted to see Joe Webb on Sunday.
