in here we can discuss the games, roster moves and whatever else comes up
first game is tomorrow night 8pm at san francisco
what do you guys want to see? brinkley out running around would be good, and some cohesiveness and just a general look of knowing what they're doing out there would be great i think
for sure not this game but what is the chance that AP shows up in one of the preseason games? 10%?

I want' to see Ponder look good. I think he's our most important question mark. I think they'll try to get Peterson a couple carries in the last preseason game.

Peterson will get carries at some point in the preseason. They've been hinting at it for a while.
I'm real excited for the rookie kicker...I know, it's weird. Also cant wait to see Hamburger Helper.

Pretty much, but I actually liked what I saw from Matt Asiata when he played some halfback.
Others in the mix: Derrick Coleman, Lex Hilliard (Jordan Todman is hurt)

Our rookie class has been playing well so far this season. Kalil, Smith, Robinson, Wright, Ellison, Walsh, Cole, Guyton have all shown flashes. The other two are injured (Childs, Blanton)

I think Audi Cole clinched a roster spot.

yeah i'd say cole is in, great plays by him- and blair sure is getting a lot of action so far and seems to be handling it well, so that's good
ponder's line was better this go around, how did he look or was it a productive of the bills defense

Dan Wiederer @StribDW
Have confirmed that Adrian Peterson will not play in either of the final two preseason games. Vikings taking the safe route
Dan Wiederer @StribDW
Peterson's goal of playing in the regular season opener 20 days from now still very realistic

Right now I see the fallowing LBs making the 53 man roster:
Erin Henderson, Jasper Brinkley, Chad Greenway, Marvin Mitchell, Tyrone McKenzie, Audie Cole
Ponder looked good. Got sacked a few times early but still managed to march the offense down the field for a TD. He hit 8 different receivers. If his first option wasn't there he was looking to his 2nd and 3rd options. I think his biggest mistake he made was when he had Ellison open short for an easy TD but instead threw an incomplete pass to Rudolph in the back of the end zone. One of his goal for the season is to complete 75% of his passes on 1st and 2nd down and he was at 80% vs. the Bills.
I hear Chan Gailey doesn't like to show his hand much in preseason games so I don't know. We should have a better idea on Ponder this Friday against San Diego when both teams will be game planning. It should be a good test for our guys like Raymond, Smith, and Robinson vs. Rivers.

i'd say its probably the best idea to not play peterson during the preseason, if he's not guaranteed for the opener (according to fraizer) than he really shouldn't be getting out there before

I watched a little over a quarter. Ponder did not look good.

did it have a lot to do with simpson (who worked with the first team this whole time until now) suddenly being removed from the equation?
maybe we took it a little too easy because of the chargers not playing anyone, should we be worried about this performance in regards to the season? and should we run the starters at all in the last preseason game to see if they can get it going a little?

I'm sure having Simpson out didn't help, but I think he missed some passes he should have hit. He also took a lot of sacks, which was both his fault and the lines. He did throw a pretty good deep ball that Percy dropped.

now this game probably doesn't mean a whole lot of anything but it looks like we put up a lot of offense (over 500 yards) and had several big plays, but also allowed some as well-- still can't cover punts apparently
