He was cut Friday. I think it came down to youth movement more then anything. We're not going to be contenders and Sage isn't going to get better at this stage of his career. Might as well give the 3rd QB spot to a guy with some potential.

There was some talk Webb might get cut, I'm glad that didn't happen.

Anyone know the deal with Jerome Simpson's roster spot while he is suspended? I heard we were granted some kind of special deal (not with regard to him playing, but with regard to his spot) but have heard nothing further on the issue. Are we able to hold someone else until he is activated? If so, I wonder who that player is.

He doesn't count towards the 53 man roster during his suspension. Currently on the roster above there are 54 players. So right now it looks like Stephen Burton is filling in for 3 weeks at this point IMO but things could change during the next three weeks.

Heh. If Simpson turns out to be above average on the outside, it looks a lot better. Definitely not a guarantee though.
