On one hand, he's making an absurd amount of money, he's over 2,000 career carries, and McKinnon was better last year than AP was the year before. On the other hand, maybe he's fresher having taken a year off and he's proven he can be a workhorse, McKinnon hasn't.

My personal choice would be to trade him for a high enough choice to draft a guy like Duke Johnson to split carries with McKinnon, but I doubt that's possible.

McKinnon was better in 2014 than AP in 2013? I don't think that's accurate. I don't think we're better off without AP unless we can find a meaningful way to spend the money.

McKinnon was 15th in defense-adjusted yards above replacement, 7th in defense-adjusted value over average, AP was 25th and 26th respectively. AP 5 fumbles, McKinnon zero. McKinnon had a higher yards per carry average too. AP has a slightly better first down to touches ratio, but Asiata took a lot of those opportunities.

Plus McKinnon has shown some solid receiving ability, AP is very mediocre, if not below-average catching the ball.

I know his size gives the impression he can't be a full-time back, but they said that about Tiki Barber at first too. I wouldn't mind giving it a try.

dont get me wrong, i'm not against AP coming back, but I think there's a solid list of pros and cons on both sides of the issue. If there's half-decent trade value out there, I'd consider it strongly considering HB's dont age well. There might not be a 2nd chance to get value.

It's hard to measure: what more can you wring out of AP vs potential trade value and how strong the running game would be if he was replaced.

McKinnon doesn't get the attention Peterson does, so I'm not sure those numbers are a good comparison

True, but our offensive coordinator was also Musgrave...
McKinnon looks promising, but we really need another RB. Trade market for AP is disappearing and this is the year to take a RB.

Some receiver from UCF named Breshard Perriman just ran a 4.15 40. I don't know if that means we should draft him, but man that is fast.

other reports saying in the mid 4.2s. Still ridiculous fast - the guy is listed as 6'3" 214. Not like he's some scrub either, over a 1000 yards last season and averaged over 20 yards per catch the past 2 seasons. Not the highest of competition, but still. I bet he goes pretty high. This draft seems really strong for WR - WRs with good size too.

I hope not, read some articles on Wayne and didn't like what I read. Played mostly zone, benefited from Michigan defensive Scheme, was hardly targeted because Michigan's safeties were so bad, a very grabby player, and not as athletic as his 40 yard time would indicate. I would like this:
Round 1- Marcus Peters
Round 2- Nelson Agholor
Round 3- jay Ajayi or best running back available. Haven't done to much research on running backs. Could be Duke Johnson or David Cobb or Abdullah too.
Round 4- Guard, Linebacker, or Safety

I have been advised the Trae Waynes love exuded by Minnesota is a smokescreen. I implicitly trust the person who told me this, he's the same person who has tipped me off to them drafting Phil Loadholt, Kyle Rudolph, Harrison Smith, CPatt, and Barr in years past. This person told me the object of desire is Brandon Scherff, but they would also be quite happy taking Andrus Peat there. Look for a CB like Eric Rowe (that's my draft crush) or Jalen Collins in the 2nd. He did mention Breshad Perriman as a potential stunner too.
