I suppose, but the state of the franchise is pretty much rock bottom.

Actually the franchise is in pretty good shape.

The defense is one of the better ones in the league. The only problem is that this team could've been a superbowl contender if they still had Culpepper and Moss now that they have a solid defense.

I found the defense to be highly overrated. No pass rush, mediocre secondary, nice run D, but who cares, you didnt even need to bother running the ball against the Vikings.

Vikings don't look to be in great shape to me. Childress is a weirdo, there's nothing at wide receiver, there's 1/2 of a good offensive line, an inexperienced rookie at QB, no pass rushers, all the starters at lb are question-marks; EJ is back at mlb where he struggled last time he was there, the other lb's are a guy who hasn't played a snap at lb yet in the NFL, and a journey man, 1 of the CB's is a full-time starter for the first time, the SS missed all last year.....there's problems.

Things could turn out well, but alot of things have to come together to make it happen.

Overrated..? They had the #1 rush defense, with two DE's that we less than spectacluar. Udeze has what it takes to get it done, but just hasn't. Erasmus is often injured but shows flashes when healthy. Our LB crew should be solid, if Greenway can step up. Leber was solid last season, and EJ played like he did in college (which was at MLB). EJ struggled at MLB for the first little while, but now he's accustomed to the speed of the NFL and with the Williams Boys in the middle pretty much anyone could play MLB for us this year. And the fact that we lost Smoot was an addition by subtraction. It lets Griffin come in and start along side Winfield, our secondary still has some question marks... but we definitely have the ablity to get it done. Tank Williams and Greg Blue as SS, and Sharper and Dwight Smith at FS... I wouldn't be suprised to see Dwight Smith playing some Nickel or Dime CB either.

I dont think we have much to worry about on the defensive side of the ball... but our offense looks miserable. I dont mind TJack coming back to start, i think he's got all the skills necessary to be good, he just needs to be surrounded by playmakers... and as of right now we have none.

Davonte Edwards was also a very pleasant surprise at cornerback last season

bottom line is the Vikings were not good, or even average vs pass defense, they were downright horrible. That contributed to there great stats vs the run, nobody even bothered to run much of the time because the passing game worked so well.

I'm not down on the Vikings team, they got a lot of promise, and I'm personally cool with TJ at QB, but I'm of the opinion that they need at least one good DE and 2 good wide receivers. If they can sign Moulds then maybe trade down if CJ and Adrian Peterson are unavailable and pickup something like Ted Ginn and Lamar Woodley, then I'd be all "w00t w00t"

Niners did a good job rebuilding, they did a very important thing. Which is to get a nice young coach that can be the face of the team.

yeah our pass D was just flat out gross... but that wasn't because of our secondary, it was mainly because of our pass rush. When the QB has 5-8 seconds to find an open reciever it makes it very difficult for the secondary to stick on their man for that amount of time.

Udeze has to step up, i mean to play all 16 games and not record ONE FLIPPING sack is pittifull. Childress already said he doesn't plan on Erasmus being fully healthy by week 1.n So our D line is in trouble, but that doesn't mean we need to draft Jameel Anderson, however if Gaines Adams is available we'd be stupid not to draft him... he'll be a playmaker for sure. There are good DE's out there in this years draft, i'm pretty sure we will draft one in the first day. But like i said before, our main concern are our playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. TJ looks solid out there, Chester was a work horse... so we need to add some weapons for TJ to throw to and maybe add another RB to help carry the load... Mewelde, Ciatrick, and Pinner aren't my idea of a back up plan. Adding Adrian Peterson would be sweet but not likely, drafting CJ is very unlikely.... so our options are very limited, but something needs to be done

Pete Iorizzo, of the Albany Times-Union, reports the Minnesota Vikings have invited Siena basketball player Michael Haddix for a tryout to be held the first week of May. Haddix is a former center on the Siena men's baseketball team. The Vikings have told Haddix they want to see him lift weights, run pass patterns and catch a few passes. If the workout goes well, the team might ask him to stay for a more extended workout. The team told Haddis they expect to work out three or four college basketball players to see if they can play tight end.

I thought Ciricui, and Shaincoe was a reach... but this is getting ridiculous. Michael Haddix...? i'm gonna have to do some research on this one.

Seriously, this diamond in the rough crap is getting old. Sign some legit ball players already. I don't care about guys who can run 2.9 40s and have six feet verticals. I care about guys who intercept 4-6 passes a year, get 10-12 sacks or 100-150 tackles.

I dunno, I kinda like those workout numbers. I'd take a 2.9 40 and a 6 foot vertical #1 overall sight unseen

A guy with great workout numbers and zero football experience/knowledge doesn't translate into success in the NFL.
