LIONS trading down

So, do we do it? Can we do it?
Calvin Johnson on this team would be amazing.
2nd pick has a value of 2600
Our pick is worth 1500
So we need to make up 1100.
Our 2nd (39th I think) is worth 510
Maybe a future second and a condition 2nd day?
Any idea?

Too many holes to trade up. If anything, we ought to trade down. I love CJ, but not for this team right now.
Also, history has shown teams moving down fair much better than teams moving up.

For CJ, I'd be willing to trade up. I don't think we have the multiple picks in the first day rounds to do so and still be able to help out our pass defense. I think the best we could do is the deal rev suggested.

You guys are forgetting the Lions are in our division.

You're forgetting they're run by Matt Millen. Thus, all forms of logic get thrown out the window.

^ You're right. But would he really want to make a trade that gives us a stud WR that would do more than the combined efforts of his 3 first rounders he's chosen. He'd lose his job for sure. I don't know why they just don't take him and hope for the best.

It was more a joke than anything, I don't think we've got enough to trade up for CJ. I wish we did, but if AP falls to us and we get one of those late 1st/early 2nd caliber receivers with our #41, then I won't mind not having that type of ammo one bit.
If they don't take him then I don't know what they're thinking. I hope they don't, though, because I'd hate to have to try and contain Roy Williams and CJ twice a year.
