RB and WR battles

Post#1 » by JBoog35 » Sun Aug 26, 2007 7:43 pm

What's the deal? I am watching the preseason and they are not even giving Todd Lowber a chance. I know it's his first year and I know that they signed him intending to put him on the practice squad, but I think some healthy playing time in a meaningless game in the even more meaningless 4th quarter would go a long way in helping him get the "feel" for the game before he is a practice squader for the season.

On a side note, I am tired of watching Martin Nance and Billy McMullen. Next preseason game I would like to see Jason Carter play those third quarter minutes. He impressed me last year and he is another one who hasn't been given a chance.

Artose Pinner looked awful last night and his line looked worse. Is the running back spot after AP and Chester sill wide open? I believe Fason will be the back after those two in our final game. I think if he shines, Pinner will be released. Tough break for a kid who got no blocking, and it didn't help when Moore would relieve him and bounce plays for a few more yards.

Just some thoughts, let me know how you feel about the RB, WR situations.

haha, o man, my post started out with the headline as Todd Lowber? Sorry, I'll change it.
"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

I dont.

He knows Lowbar isnt going to play this year. He sees him in practice everyday. Why take the reps from someone who we could need this year?

Like Chily said when the media was rippin on tjax for not throwing much "he goes against a pretty good defense everyday in practice" Coach sees the practice. We dont. Which is why we want Lowbar in now. But it would be pointless.
