Game 6: Vikings at Dallas Cowboys
This going to be a tough one. I don't know how we stop their passing game. Hopefully Romo throws 5 Ints again or Peterson runs for 5 Touchdowns.

I think for this to work, we have to get ahead and hold the Time of Possession. Keep the Dallas O off the field. Easier said than done I guess but it's possible. I am thinking that we need to commit to the pass. Hoping our edge guys can create on their own...
"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

How about both?

Come on guys, this is a game I wasn't too upset with. Play calling was good, we limited turnovers, got our takeaways, and kept it close for the most part even though we were offensively challenged.
Pro's
- Peterson and Taylor are a fantastic back field. Even when we have nothing else going, and the defense knows the run is coming, every once in a while they can pull out a big run. Neither got many touches today, but thats not on the coaching staff.
- We didn't give up the long ball. I wish Tarvaris would have looked off the safety a little more on a couple of them, but he's still young. Rice made a great adjustment to almost catch the touchdown near the end of the game.
- Play calling was good even though it was tough to tell. Protection was great, even though we had some more silly penalties on the O-line.
- The front four were great. We kept getting pressure on Romo which was a great sign. As Troy Aikman said, "Ray Edwards is having one hell of a game." I feel very comfortable with him and Brian Robinson as our ends for years to come. (On a side not, after spending two first round picks on DE's in the past 4 years, who would have figured our best DE's would be ones that we picked up in the fourth round?)
- The LB's were pretty good in coverage. EJ is a monster. He was all over the place today. And so was Leber. And Tank Johnson didn't look too bad back in the secondary either.
Con's
- Tarvaris was very indecisive. He looked really afraid of making a mistake, and held on to the ball for too long too many times. That will get better with age and as he gets more comfortable with our receivers. However I was very impressed with how strong he was in the pocket and that he doesn't go down very easily.
- Our receivers struggled to get open and got pushed around a little. I think the Dallas secondary intimated them a little bit.
- We really need to consider what we are going to do with Ryan Cook. I really don't like him at RT. He seems scared whenever he has to pass block and backs up too much before he makes first contact with the defender. We can ride it out for the rest of the season with him, but we need a long term answer during the off season.
- The secondary knows that they give up a lot of yards underneath. Its just that once they get into the redzone they get pressure and try to get takeaways. We didn't get any interceptions, but Romo's turnover to touchdown ratio was still 1, so I'm not too upset.
Overall, had we converted on some crucial 3rd downs, and gotten our defense a little more time to rest up, I think we could have definitely won this game. We kept it close with the best team in the NFC, can't say I'm too disappointed about that.

Are you joking? Leading up to the blocked field goal, we had 1st and 10 inside the Dallas 40, and we passed on 1st down. We passed on 2nd down. We passed on third down. wtf? Give the ball to Peterson. If you're concerned about keeping AD healthy, give the ball to Taylor.

1-10-DAL 31 (4:00) C.Taylor up the middle to DAL 31 for no gain (R.Ayodele).
2-10-DAL 31 (3:17) T.Jackson pass incomplete deep left to B.Wade (R.Williams). Pass incomplete at the Dallas 12.
3-10-DAL 31 (3:10) (Shotgun) T.Jackson pass incomplete short right to T.Williamson. Pass incomplete flat at the Dallas 30; heavy
pressure by Ware
Timeout #2 by MIN at 03:05.
4-10-DAL 31 (3:05) (Field Goal formation) R.Longwell 48 yard field goal is BLOCKED (C.Canty), Center-C.Loeffler,
Holder-C.Kluwe, RECOVERED by DAL-P.Watkins at DAL 32. P.Watkins for 68 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
We did a great job driving down the field. AD had a big run, Tarvaris had a big run, and Wade made a good catch. After getting no gain on first, I don't fault the coaching staff for trying to get more momentum in the passing game. If we make that field goal, the game is much different. But we could say the same thing about the fumble returned for a TD.
