MIAMI -- Minnesota Vikings tackle Bryant McKinnie was arrested for aggravated battery after a street brawl outside a nightclub early Sunday.

McKinnie also was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence, according to a police report.

Lil birdies say because of his massive contract and "value" he will not be cut, but he is being actively shopped right now.

First.....
For everyone that is trying to point this at the Chiller and the Owner and their attempts to hold players accountable, what the hell should they do? Follow them around and hold thier hand?
Truth of the matter, these guys are supposed to be adults who can make thier own intelligent decisions. Getting into a bar fight is one thing I would/could ignore. Going back for more is were he messed up.
If he had an issue with the guy their are legal paths to resolve them, not going back and trying to solve it on your own physically. That my friends is how a kid handles things.
Big Mac let himself down, his team down and his immediate family down (if they are relying on him financially). I for one do not want a guy in the trenches with me that can't be trusted. Although the game of football isn't quite as unforgiving as the military, the whole team concept still applies to a point IMHO.

As to the point of should he be cut or not. If it was me I would, however what has to be taken into account is the contractual ramifications behind just saying the Chiller is gonna cut someone. I am sure if that is one of the options being considered Bryzcheapski and his legal staff are digging into the contract to see what type of CAP hit it would be to let him go.

If Bryzcheapski holds serve then he has written into the current contract outs for a guy such as Big Mac who seems to have a small need to get in trouble.

Long story short, it sucks that our OL is finally getting it together. I was really looking forward to seeing the same guys come in and start together and continue to build that thing all OL needs and thats a comfort level with the guy playing next to you.

I anticipate that the league will mandate some sort of suspension if the team doesn't act first. Probably a 4 games suspension or something along that lines. Might be a good time to see what is out there on the FA market that can fill that role or to look to the draft to pick up one of the good LT's in the draft.

It isn't like the front office doesn't like to take a kid and start him and let him learn on the field. (Cook, Griff, TJ, etc).

He does struggle against speedier pass rushers but truth be told, alot of Tackles do, that is why TE's and RB's get paid to assist/chip/helpout in that area.

Football contracts aren't guaranteed, there are no financial obigations once you cut someone. And I don't think there's anything you can write into a contract that would reduce the cap hit based on behavior. That wouldn't make any sense.

actually, there is a cap hit if you cut a large contract. Best example I can show you is to cut a large contract on madden.

I am just repeating what I am being told. I was told by a couple people that there is a fiscal situation to simply cutting him.

i don't have any idea but i would guess there would be some sort of cap hit if he were cut, and as for shopping him who would want him

There would be a cap hit, I wasn't disputing that. I just to don't know how you would tie a cap hit to player behavior (I'm not sure if that's what your were saying). I would think the cap hit is what it is, based on salary.
There's also cap ramifications for trading a high priced player.

yes, I meant they are looking into what the hit would be from various situations. Not clauses.

I did not know there was a hit for trading a guy.
