It was just reported that the Vikings and Jags have unofficiallly agreed to a trade that would send Troy Williamson to the Jags for a 2nd day pick. So I was wondering if any of you could give me some information of what he brings. I understand he has a big problem with drops, do you think that could be overcome?

WILLIAMSON is a receiver who has great speed, who occasionally drops passes , but will make a good return man.
btw, any word on what pick we got?

The occasionally ship set sail long ago. It's long been describable as "chronically."

The pick is going to be a 6th rounder

IIRC, Williamson didn't have a problem with his hands his rookie year. I really think it was all mental for him.
I think we should have put conditions on the pick. Like if he played 50% or more of their snaps it would turn into a 4th rounder. Or if he plays 75% of their snaps, a 2nd rounder. And if he makes the Pro Bowl, a first rounder. That might be asking for too much but I have this weird feeling he will play decent in JAX under Tice.

He has always had a hands problem.
He does not make a great return man because his change of speed and movement is not the best. He is more of a straight line runner.
A 6th rd makes the gamble little for Jax, and if Williamson does put everything together it will pay off. he is a good kid with great speed and good size. Good luck.

with troy gone, is there greater focus to sign a vet wr, or draft one of the top prospects, or both?
