Minnesota has acted swiftly to add a No. 1 receiver for young QB Tarvaris Jackson.

The Vikings have come to terms on a six-year deal with Bernard Berrian, sources have told FOXSports.com. The worth of the deal is not yet known.

From a Bears fan, Berrian was overpaid. But then again, so is half the people in the league.

He has speed, you certainly upgraded in that department, but everything else? Well he doesn't focus very well. If he's your #1 threat, don't expect him to get the attention of the safeties unless he's running a straight post route. Very weak, not the greatest jumper, so don't expect him to jump for those overthrown balls. If he sees a defender coming after him before the catch, he'll blink and miss the catch.

I'm hoping that this was all due to the Bears offense and coaches (at least I can pray it is, so I have somebody to blame for the upcoming season) but I really think you guys overpaid for him.

You guys overpaid for him but this might end up being a great deal for you guys. I'm just glad the Bears let him go because we need to save our money for Hester when he needs an extension.

He's not a "vet". He's played 3 years in the league, but he is far from being the "vet" that you guys need to help your other young guys.

By vet he does not mean mentor, but someone who can play and has experience.

We have been talking about BB since half-way in the season.

Williamson got open plenty of times downfield last year. All Berrian has to do is the exact same thing but catch the ball and he's got 6-8 TDs.

exactly. Similar speed/size. Berrian is going to have defenses that focus on AD and a turf that is build for speed. He got 900 yards in the pOS chicago offense and field.

Thats exactly what I've been saying. 900+ yards in a Bears offense that started 3 different mediocre QBs, has a terrible offensive line, and a bad running game, is impressive.

However I do think you guys overpaid for him. He's a good WR, but not a legit #1. He made some very spectacular catches last year, but he also made some costly drops and gave up on a few plays that ended in interceptions that he could have stopped.

You guys will love him at times, and hate him at times.
