Booty wants the vikings

Post#1 » by revprodeji » Mon Apr 14, 2008 10:44 pm

Sports Center Special!!!

John David Booty immediately mentions the Vikings as a team he would be interested in!

The analysts then went on to talk about how he would be a good back up if the T-Jack project doesn't work out....

I would consider him with our second 3rd but only if there is a run on the other QB's such as Brohm, Woodson, Flacco, Henne, etc. If those guys are gone then Booty becomes an option. I like the idea of drafting a qb 2nd day this year to develop as a back-up long term.

Imo the 4th, 117, should be used on a developmental Qb. Booty, Josh Johnson, or Eric Ainge would be good options.
I also like the idea of Brohm (NyG and SD are solid bets for teams wanting to move into into the 1st ala Cleve last year) jumping ahead of Mia and Atl

I forgot about Eric Ainge. I like him.

I do not want to take Brohm. I want a developmental guy, but not someone we need to put a lot of draft value in, or someone that would be seen as a take over for Tjax. If Tjax is unable to do anything this year than we geta vet via trade/fa next year. But he gets this year.

Yeah that would be the huge pitfall - creating a QB controversy for the fragile Jackson. I am with you in giving him 08 to make or break.L''KL:

I have no problem with Booty in round 3 or 4.

I think he will make a good NFL backup

I think the guys I am looking at would have to be Woodson first, booty second, DD, then Ainge.

what round do you think would be the earliest we'd take a qb, 3rd?

3rd would make the most sense. I cant see us taking one in the 2nd.

Really? I have heard good things from him from different people. He will be considered day 2 with the other QB's.

Yeah Erik Ainge would be a good pickup in the 4th round.

Not a bad pick up in the 5th round.

Yep. He will make a great backup to T-Jack.

Return to Minnesota Vikings
