Under NFL rules, teams are not required to pay players on the NFI list because the "injury" is not football-related. But Childress said that owner Zygi Wilf authorized the payment so that Udeze can "focus on getting well."

It is classy. I am excited to see Udeze back on this line. He is a very good LDE next to the williams wall and Allen who prefers the RDE.

Let's not forget Williamson's grandmother died and they wouldn't pay his weekly salary (at first).

They needed to do something like this to save face from the Williamson incident.
