Weaknesses?

Post#1 » by BiggMann » Wed May 14, 2008 10:38 pm

Ok so here we are middle of May and we've made a lot of good offseason moves thus far, we brought in enought talent IMO to be one of the NFC's better teams.

But we've got to be realistic, where are our biggest weaknesses?

OT: I think this is our biggest concern, if McKinnie doesn't play we are in BIG BIG trouble.

LB's: I'm happy with EJ and Greenway, but i'm really concerned with Leber. He seemed to be at his best when blitzing, but hopefully with this new Dline we wont have to bring the LB's as much as last season.

CB depth: We're solid at the top with Winfield and Cedric, but i'm curious to know who is going to step up and solidify themselves as our nickle and dime backs.

k i better get back to work.. let me hear your thoughts. Also if someone has time they should post the Depth Chart we have thus far.

biggest weakness: QB.

I have high hopes for tarvaris, but he only showed flashes...and was too inconsistent. I also doubt his accuracy.

another weakness: TE
no one to be a consistent target. no one the help tjack out

open question: WR
how will the new group melt with tjack? i'm optimistic about this one though.

I kind of agree with the OL...which is kind of thin if starters fall out.

Other than that, i think LB is one of our strength. the starting 3 are all above average on their position, and i think that leber was our best LB last year. he blitzed very rarely...and when he did, he got through most of the time. but his coverage and stuffing was really solid.
we don't have much depth at LB, which could turn out to be a weakness.

CB depth isn't an issue: we added sapp, and mccauly and griffin both have an important year of experience on their back. i expect mccauly to start by the end of the year. also, there are talks that rookie tyrell johnson might see time as nickel (or dime).

As I see it, we only have below average starters at QB, TE and (maybe) WR.

the wr's will depend on qb, if jackson is good the wr's will be good
i think they'll mesh fine
te is a concern
OL is a little thin and Mac's situation is worrisome

no really glaring weaknesses on defense
how's special teams going to do?

Depth on both lines. TE. Possibly QB.

QB is not a weakness. Consider what it would take to add a premier QB to our team, we'd be completely depleated.

TE obvious weakness, Shank O needs to step it up... i'm hoping they give Kleinsasser some time at TE.

That doesn't mean it's not a weakness. Whether it's a weakness depends on T-Jax's production. We shall see.

We are in much better position than a lot of teams, especially those within our own division.

Would you rather have TJack, or Grossman? Kitna? Rodgers?

I can honestly say i'll take TJack over ANYONE of those guys.

Again, that doesn't mean it's not a weakness.

if we are better off than other teams that means they have a major weakness at the qb spot

we have a weakness because our qb situation is not as strong as it could be

I do not see much of a weakness. We have depth and we have stars. Only thing is experience and consistant creativity from defensive coord.
