Since Cutler and his new Coach are already at odds...
Cutler for #22 and T Jackson.
Broncos pick Sanchez with #12, take whatever they like with 22, Jackson and/or Patrick Ramsey hold it down for a year before the rookie is ready.

No, it would take more than that. Maybe TJax+22+2nd rd or Taylor+1st, it will be a high price to pay whatever it is.

so is there a reasonable chance at getting him?
apparently he's not talking to the broncos at all

I wouldn't expect that the Broncos actually trade him, but it does sound like the Vikings and Broncos are talking.

after reading
thisi really want Cutler now, i think the broncos would be crazy to trade him, unless they had a really good fall back option

I thought I'd toss it out there since there was some media speculation, obviously 99% never will happen. Bronco fans would freak.

so Cutler has demanded a trade now, think there is any fire with this smoke? broncos would be crazy to move him, but if he keeps this up

would you even want Cutler's character on the team?

I am curious how this works in the NFL...
If Denver were to trade Cutler, they would sorely need some help at the QB positions unless they really think Simms could be the answer. If they aren't set on Simms, are the Vikings allowed to trade newly aquired Sage in a deal for Cutler? Sage probably has more trade value than Travaris and would then require less pick compensation to go to Denver. Sage also would , at the minimum, give them a decent quarterback battle for the starting position.
Denver may want something other than Sage though, Cleveland has Anderson or Quinn that would probably interest them more, and there are a few other Vets to be had (Leftwich, etc.); but would Sage be tradeable and give the Vikings a better piece to offer to Denver?

http://www.twincities.com/powersOn Wednesday, we discover the Minnesota Vikings could have had quarterback Jay Cutler for draft picks. In other words: quarterback problem solved. Yippee.
But the report by Yahoo.com said the deal fell through because "some elements" of the Minnesota coaching staff weren't sold on Cutler.
so brad wants a qb competition

wiretapPioneer Press - The Vikings reportedly won't be among the suitors for Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler because some members of their coaching staff have "reservations."
The Broncos officially placed Cutler on the trading block Tuesday night.
"After further inspection, those reservations apparently didn't stop with the coaching staff. Indeed, there are indications that multiple people in the organization weren't comfortable with Cutler, from all corners of the franchise," the report said. "It's almost unthinkable Minnesota would try to rekindle talks, particularly now that so many other teams are in play."

http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikin ... anchO7DiUrBrad Childress won't let public opinion sway him, but the Vikings coach does read much of what is written about his team. And what he's been reading is this: The quarterback situation is in near-disarray.
That would explain the steady stream of Jay Cutler rumors, which will only grow following Tuesday's announcement that the Broncos will trade him, or 41-year-old Jeff George recently telling Yahoo! Sports, "If I was in Minnesota, I guarantee I'd be wearing a ring right now." George hasn't thrown an NFL pass since the 2001 season.

"I don't see it as in shambles," Childress said. "Now, do you want improvement there? Yeah. We always know that the laser is going to get pointed at the quarterback. But I don't feel that way. I feel like we've upgraded with a guy like Sage, and I think that those two guys will compete. ... Would we love to have a guy that could be a 10-year starter? Yeah, we would."
"I think we've got a younger, Gus Frerotte-type guy [in Rosenfels] with knowledge in the system that Gus didn't have," Childress said. "I don't think there is anything wrong with a 31-year-old quarterback that's more athletic than Gus."
what about Cutler he's athletic and only 25! he could start for 10 years!
childress wants his qb competition everything else be danged

I'm am not looking forward to seeing Cutler 2x year.
At least Denver got the Bears' 1st rdrs this year and next... that softens the blow a bit.

I'm the a huge Vikings fan, who lives in Denver.
I have seen Cutler play every game in a Denver uniform and I am very disappointing in coach Childress and the coaching staff not going for the move. Our QB situation has been in shambles ever since Childress took over and shipped Culppeper away (similar to the Broncos situation) we have had 5 or 6 starting QB's since Childress has been here, none of which have been consistent. Granted Culpepper was on his way on the decline since that devastating knee injury, I think he would have been better than any other QB we have had.
Now we will have to face Cutler twice a season, and Brad can get a firsthand look at what he slipped away because he is too stubborn to give up on his T-Jack project. Though I like T-Jack, I don’t he’s the answer. He made great strides at the end of last season and played better than what anyone expected. Come playoff time our offense was very stagnant and that comes down to Jackson who can’t consistently hit the open receivers and make terrible decisions, it only takes one (interception to Samual). Cutler would have really opened up the play book and our offense, which would be insane with Adrian back there.
Though I’m not too upset we didn’t make the deal, I’m a firm believer that you must build most a team from the draft, but I think for the price the Bears got Cutler we should have gotten it done.
Anyways, I’m finally getting DriecTV and NFL Ticket so I can catch ever Vikings game this upcoming season, GO VIKINGS!

^ the vikings offer would have had to been #22, next years 1st, Sage, and next years 3rd to equal the Bears output. I wouldn't even do that and I was hoping for something better in the QB dept.
I still do not think the Bears will be better than 10-6 with Cutler. Hopefully, with Sage and a good draft, the Vikings can go 11-5.
Enjoy your DTV.

ah well, no big deal. Just have a wait a couple days for the next top 10 quarterback to come on the trade block. I swear I can't take a step these days without tripping over a whole bevy of available top 10 QBs.
This team will never have a good QB while Childress is here. He seems to be either trying to prove that QB isn't an important position or that Tarvaris Jackson is going to break out any day now.
