Sidney Rice is blossoming at the right time

He's on pace for 1400 yards and making the 2007 draft look pretty good. Is he a Favre induced mirage or is he a future superstar?

I'm still having a hard time believing in him, he looks like a #2 to me. He's not super fast, not a beast after the catch, he's just got great hands and Favre is putting the ball right where it needs to be. If it came down to huge #1 superstar receiver money for Rice, I'd probably pass if it meant taking money away from the trenches.

He's not a free agent until 2011, so we'll have some time before we have to commit, but I agree that he's probably more Jake Reed than Randy Moss or Cris Carter.

i think favre has had something to do with his emergence, but he does have excellent hands

i don't think he's at top-level wr status yet though
