Playoffs

Post#1 » by Worm Guts » Mon Jan 4, 2010 3:17 pm

We got the bye so we got a chance, I think. I'm still not sure we're playing well, but at least we don't have to go outside. My preference for opponent in two weeks would be: 1. Arizona 2. Dallas 3. Green Bay. The ramifications for losing to Green Bay are too big, I'd rather not play them until the NFC championship.

I got to thinking about this during the Giants game and realized that if we can get lucky and only play teams that are out of the playoffs and have motivation that yea, we can get all the way to the Superbowl!!!

on the flip side we can only go as far as Jared Allen and Favre can carry us and if there's one game that those 2 will potentially be unstoppable, I think it's vs Green Bay at the dome

Avoiding the Eagles was all I cared about after getting the bye and that has happened. Those guys have the Vikings number. Now, Philly would have to go through Dallas and New Orleans first just to get there.

I didn't want to go to Philly. I don't mind playing them in the dome.

i like the Vikes chances anytime they play at home so the toughest matchup may come in the NFC title game if we make it that far. I still think Saints may be toughest matchup for us because of their excellent secondary and the fact they'll be at home. Best scenario for us is to have a hot team like the Packers beat them while we earn home field for the NFC crown after disposing of the cowboys at home.
I don't think Philly can beat the Saints and I'm sure nobody in Minnesota wants to see a Saints vs Cowboys game (that would only happen if Cowboys defeat Minnesota to advance).

Yea I left out the Cardinals but hate to mention them after what they did to Minnesota. Don't think Arizona has all the tools to dispose of Saints but then wouldn't want to face them again even at home. Hopefully we do our part at the MallofAmerica dome a and everything falls into place for us.

If Saints don't start playing better football the NFC Championship game may very well not be played in New Orleans.
