Anyone else disgusted by the way this deal is being reported?
Collusion, favoritism? Get outta here, the Pats had to get rid of him asap and they took the first decent offer they got.

Of course the rest of the league is going to make it seem like there's some type of tampering going on because it's between Bill and Pioli.

No different than people crying foul when KG got traded to us.

They just love to hate the Pats.

Cassel was almost cut during the preseason because he played like crap but thankfully he wasn't cut and it worked out. We have other positions that are of a much greater need but if something happens, I'm not comfortable with people that haven't stared an NFL game

Just as others have said, Cassel was close to being cut last season because he hadn't shown any inkling of being able to man the QB position effectively. Some would argue his season had more to do with who he was throwing to than his own ability.

As far as not being comfortable with someone who hasn't started a game in the NFL....that's exactly what we were stuck with at the beginning of last year. Matt wasn't an NFL starter and he hadn't been considered a starter since high school.

You can argue that they could have gotten more but bottom line is that the Patriots took a 7th round pick they were ready to cut and converted it into a second rounder.

Isn't it a little fishy that Cassell is ironically getting a gig from the same team that put him on the map?
