He's hated on our drafts for some reason. I understand the maroney jackson draft brought BB and co's notch down a bit. But they're have been plenty of guys from the other drafts who have come in and contribute. Plus the UFDA's. It's not like every other team in the league is striking rich with their 5th round picks either..

dont sweat it guys...risdon seems to have the kiper attitude of a draft specialist who thinks he knows better. i dont want to be insulting, but he seems to think pretty highly of what he says. he definitely gets some good inside info, but i find his own scouting is as hit or miss as anyone's.

the pats deserve the praise they get, it takes someone looking at thing from the wrong angle to assume that more rookies should be making the team. winning teams dont have many spots to fill. and our mid round misses have to be balanced out by our udfa hits, which are among the best in the league.

one thing i noticed he said in that thread that i agree with is the different dynamic of the war room without pioli. i am now of the opinion that belichick may have trusted pioli too much and a number of our less successful picks were more pioli than bill. i prefer to have bill in control of as much as possible (and ernie adams is the REAL belichick partner in crime anyway, not pioli)

i loved this draft even though i was caught off guard at first. i see chung being a player in between harrison and meriweather for us and a great three safety rotation. i see butler as a great value and possibly the best cover corner in the draft. i see brace as a player i felt was underrated (i wont say hes as good as raji, but i will say i thought he was closer to raji than anyone else said, brace was the third or fourth best DT in this draft at worst and the best NT in my opinion) and a great value. vollmer seemed to be a reach but has some real sleeper possibility with his size/speed combo and relative inexperience. i see mckenzie, ohrnberger and tate all as perfectly legitimate possible future starters for us. seven guys who could feasibly become starters, without being homerish...how is that not a GREAT draft?
