Belichick won't rule out Vick

Patriots coach Bill Belichick provided more fodder for the rampant rumors that disgraced former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who recently completed a 23-month sentence for his role bankrolling a dogfighting ring, could be a Patriot.

While several teams have made it known that they won't pursue Vick, Belichick wouldn't go there today, despite being given multiple opportunities.

Belichick was asked directly whether he or the organization had ruled out signing Vick? His response was:

"Have we ruled it out? I don't know that it's ruled in or ruled out. I'm not not answering your question. I'm saying I don't think it's ever been put that way, so I can't really answer that."

^^ gotta love that quote

I don't know how much he can bring to the team this year is he comes, but he would bring a lot of versatility to the roster, and if there is any coach out there who can make use of what he has left, it has to be BB.

I think if they can work with him and get him acclimated to the system and work the rust off , it'd be great to have him as the wildcat QB to come in and spell Brady for a few plays here and there.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Trying to paraphrase what Chris Gasper said the other day, that at first, he thought this was just a thought. But after listening to other media sources, this is a real possibility. And Bill Burt said something around the same thing, no inside info, but every other media member nationally is reporting the interest.

I think they're talking, but they're obviously trying to get things working out. Who knows what happens.

My personal take: I think that as a football standpoint, it is the smartest thing to do. Brady is not a freak of nature, he's close, but he's not a robot. He could very well need some plays off after coming off of the injury. The wildcat would be the perfect situation where they could do that.

A lot of people are saying, why would you take the ball out of brady's hands? Well, as everyone knows, the NFL is all about parodies. And right now, the biggest thing going is the wildcat. So it's not like it is a crazy idea. Lots of teams are taking the ball out of their top QB's hands. Watch the colts start to do it as well with manning.

Now on the other hand you get the media/peta bull crap. I think what Vick did was wrong. But I can forgive him after all the stuff he had to go through. I mean that is a lot of time served. He lost almost everything. He deserves a second chance. I think most teams see that, but then they see the media/peta crap, and shy away.

Anyway, like I said, we'll see what happens.
