Andrew Walter was cut

Hoyer made that happen last night. So as of right now, the patriots have 2 QB's, plus Edelman who can be an emergency QB, on the roster.

Now waiting on other moves.

I'm now hearing it's going to be a wild day at tight end for the Pats. Stay tuned for details

At least one Pats trade at tight end -- David Thomas goes to New Orleans for an undisclosed 2011 draft pick .

More trade activity: New York Giants traded tight end Michael Matthews to the Patriots for a conditional 2011 draft pick.

Indications now are that the Patriots also have released TE Alex Smith, which must mean that Ben Watson has made the final 53-man roster.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Hmm. Glad Thomas left, still upset about his bonehead move versus the colts last year. *See thread entitled "F*ck David Thomas*

But then we trade that pick right over to the giants for this matthews fella. TBH, I wasn't paying attention to NY last pre-season game, did he play? He must've impressed BB.

So now we got

Chris Baker
Ben Watson
Michael Matthews

fine by me.

Ha, every time you compliment me on my avatar is when I am about to switch it. Nothing against you though, I change my avatar often.

2 qbs, and trading David Thomas were the stories of the day. Nothing real surprising by new england.

WR Greg Lewis released

The Patriots released receiver Greg Lewis today, according to a league source.

Lewis, a seven-year veteran, was acquired from the Eagles in March. The Patriots acquired Lewis along with a seventh-round draft choice for a fifth-round draft pick.

The 29-year-old Lewis, who spent the first six years of his career with the Eagles, was thought to be in competition for the No. 3 or 4 receiver spot.

The Patriots have Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Joey Galloway, Sam Aiken and Julian Edelman at receiver.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

If the team was going to cut Greg Lewis I'm surprised they didn't keep Nunn. He looked really good this preseason.
