Yeah, I'm really coming around to this draft. They're filling needs. They just drafted the best punter in the 5th round, Zoltan Mesko. There was a lot of talk on this kid near the combine about how BB will probably take him. I like the pick.

I'm a fan of it. Good draft overall. Nothing jumps out at you, no real sexy picks, but I like it.

I just don't get the assessment of the draft by the media honks maybe they would have bitched no matter what. To my understanding you need to get production out of your first round pick, those guys are going to get paid like a starter so they better start. People want a pass rusher which would have been great but only if he can also drop back in coverage and stuff the run, you can't burn a 1st rounder on a guy who is only going to play on 3rd down. People want Jerry Hughes but don't realize the guy has never played OLB and isn't big enough or strong enough to be a 3-4 end, maybe he can make that switch but that is a huge maybe for a first round pick.

Bryant is certainly going to be a question mark but he was the best receiver in the draft not in the NFL.

The idea that McCourty would have stayed on the board is off the Vikings simply would have taken a DB instead of dealing out. The only reason the Pats could deal down is that they new all the answers in between 22-27. He is a perfect fit for the Pats system. I wouldn't have liked it but I think they would have taken Gresham at 22. I thought Bill did a nice job of balancing risk, need, and value.

The other thing that was attached to almost all of these guys is smart and versatile something the team has been less and less of over the past few seasons including rings.
