Pre-Season 2010-2011

Post#1 » by Parliament10 » Wed Jul 7, 2010 1:25 am

Last look we had 83 players on what needs to be an 80-man roster heading into pre-season. And we still have seven (7) Draft picks unsigned.

We're okay at QB, as usual. Hoyer's back as the backup. Stanback is out; I'm not happy with that. I think anybody that can play two positions is worth serious consideration. QB & WR? Ditto for Julian Edelman. Zac Robinson (the rookie backup backup) was picked in the 7th round. So was Brady.

We've still got the old RB-by-Committee still intact. But honestly, we need breakout players at a number of positions, starting with RB.

WR is stuffed. We've got 11 receivers on roster, and two more on military reserve. We brought David Patten back. And added Tory Holt, with seven (7) Pro-Bowls. Both are older than Randy Moss.
Welker, Edelman and Slater are still here, filling in the gaps.

TE we need help.
The O-Line is all set, with Vollmer jumping up to starter. Backups are all okay as well.

The Defense has holes all over. The 3-4, the 4-3...we need guys who can take up two men, and/or make plays in the secondary.

Tully Banta-Cain looks good.
Ross Ventrone (Ray's younger brother) is an interesting project.

Special Teams is a little shaky. Who's kicking for us?
Runners are all set with Edelman and Slater.
Jake Ingram is still a good fit at LS.
Positional Players and Versatile Backups are what we need.
Hopefully we straighten the cart out, as we truck along.
