Kyle Davies knows better than to criticize his manager publicly. But the Atlanta pitcher clearly did not agree with Bobby Cox's assessment that his location Monday was "way off the mark."
Cox pulled Davies after just 22 pitches against the Cincinnati Reds, the quickest he has ever pulled a pitcher who was not injured in his tenure as Atlanta's manager. Before Tuesday's game, Davies was adamant that his pitches were not all that bad.
"It wasn't like I was wild," Davies said. "I just missed. I didn't miss by a foot and a half. I missed four inches down."
