The RISP stuff is fluky; if players keep getting on base, the runs will come in eventually. Loewen's been pretty unspectacular overall; the game's not over yet.

Yeah it's pretty bad, but we're only down 2 going into the 9th. That is nothing we should come back...

Mussina was horrible. Our bullpen was great though

Our SP's so far has been pretty bad.Im not really worried as of now but 3 straight starts where our SP's dont even get into the 6th inning is a bad sign

Jeter fouled a ball off his foot. He will be fine, good news too, Damon is suppose to come back over the weekend. So hopefully we can take this series, and shake this loss off

The season so far has been anything but uplifting. The starting pitching has struggled with crap teams.

Crap teams, yes...but good offenses. The flaw of both the DRays and Orioles is their pitching, not their bats.

Regardless, it is no excuse to pitch this poorly and be this sloppy. Obviously it means absolutely nothing over the course of 162 games, because we are going to lose a hell of a lot more than these 2 games. If we started 4-0, we'd be happier but it would mean just as little as starting 1-2. Pavano hadn't pitched in nearly 2 years and Pettitte missed the final 10 days of spring, so he is a little behind. Moose should pitch better, though. I won't worry until these guys are in a rhythym and then are no good.

Hughes was excellent tonight though. The better he pitches and the worse our starters pitch, the quicker his arrival.

On a side note, the top two threads on the Mets board are dedicated to the Yankees.

We should feel honored

Kei Igawa throws like 4578248082 pitches to get one guy out, he isn't getting past 5. Razzle Dazzle Rasner is not more than 5 innings at best either. Wang can't back fast enough, even if it is just to give our pen a rest. On the bright side, Henn with 3 innings of 1 hit baseball was great. Procter to me looks like he is a slight tweak a way from giving up a homerun. He is on the edge, the guy's arm does not look anywhere near as sharp as it was last season but it could be because of the cold. So I shall wait. I say we move Procter to the Dodgers for Wilson Betemit and get rid of Miggy. -Jitpal

Wang can defintely go more than 5 innings, I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know anything about the kid that is throwing tonight so we should see how he does. But overal I think we will be fine it's way to early to be saying that we suck. Oh yeah and another thing, our Bullpen is better this year, that Henn kid looks real good.
