Bills/Pats New Years Day

Post#1 » by Dirty Water » Fri Dec 30, 2011 4:20 pm

Wasn't a thread for it yet. Not trying to encroach on your gamethreads Celtics-Champs, just thought something should be up by now.

This is a very weird team, amidst a weird season. Not really sure what to expect. Apparently we are the best team in the AFC. Seems to be a lot of mediocrity in the NFL this year.

Not sure if Brady is really hurt or this is a BB ploy. Looks like maybe all those QB sneaks may have caught up with Brady's health. I say if you get any kind of lead in this game, sit Brady down and lets see Hoyer. #1 seed is nice, but ti means nothing if Brady isn't healthy. You're only competing with Pittsburgh I believe, and they have QB health issues as well.

No, this is fine. Anyone is free to make them.

This is going to be interesting. I feel like they should rest Brady, that'd give him three weeks (counting this past week) of rest going into the playoffs.

The number 1 seed really isn't that important. Patriots have lost at home in the postseason two years in a row now. The bye was the most important thing, and we have that.

Plus who knows, it's buffalo, maybe Brian Hoyer can get it done.

Bah! Struggling with Brady in there. Since he's in, I really want that number one seed.

Defense looks like garbage starting the game again. Brady needs to quit making so many mistakes as well.

At what point do the patriots ask for the ball first when they win the toss. This go down 21-0 type of game is going to come back an haunt you.

Can the defense actually make a play now that we have a TD and stop making Fitz look like an MVP?

They do that to nearly every quarterback which kind of sucks.

Hopefully... They need to go into the bye week thinking they're good, rather than knowing they are the worst team in the league that Brady and offense continue to carry.

realpatriots New England Patriots
That was Mark Anderson's 10th sack of the season. The last time the Patriots had two defenders with 10 sacks in a season was in 1985.

If only our yards allowed wasn't so terrible.

Wow. Another free agent signing by BB too.

People said andersons stats would go down because people would double him now that carter is out. But clearly that isn't the case.

I heard a stat on the radio the other day saying this is one of the worst defenses in the history of the league. The only team worse had one win.

Kinda shows how good Brady is, that he is leading his team to a 13-3 record and the number one seed in the AFC. Obviously BB should get some credit too.

This is why I think Brady should get the MVP award again. i know Rodgers and Drew Brees have had great years as well, but they have also had a really good well-rounded team. This team has been pushing through the mud with one leg all season.

Honestly, because of that this has been one of my favorite Brady seasons/performances I have watched since him and BB have been running this patriots team.

He should get more consideration then he is going to get. For sure.

Oh and how olds Mark Anderson? He's not carter age right? I think he's young. Sign him for a couple more years please.

Number one thing that pisses me off though that I started to see at the end of last year and all of this year is Brady's new demeanor of screaming his wr's heads off when they miss a catch. I'd be hypocritical not to say it after getting on Manning all those years for doing the same.

I just don't understand the need to rip welkers head off.

Brady has a big head these days. He plays like a boss and expects everyone to do the same. if you don't you hear about it. I don't like it either, but it is what it is now.

Yeah hate it too, it's gotta be a bit humiliating for the WR's...First time I saw Brady do it publicly was in the SB against the Giants, where he was screaming at Wes, but yeah Im with you on that, cause you don't see them getting on him when he's a bit off his game. Love the guy, but seeing it too much these last couple of seasons.

Do you guys really think we could make some serious noise with this defense? I know every team is flawed this year, but we haven't really had great comp in a while (believe we had the one of the weakest schedule towards the end), and we've been having issues with every offense, just wondering your POV's?

The team will really have to rally together and pull off some miracle 3 and outs in the playoffs for them to make any kind of legitimate noise. Brady needs to play like a beast if the Defense plays anything less than that. After the past couple of years being 1 and out...I just don't know how much faith I have in the playoffs.

It's such a crazy year, I think we can get back to the super bowl. I don't want to face Baltimore and/or the Jets. I don't like our chances of getting back if we have to get through them.
