the real question should be what do you WANT to do... asking what they should do is really a tough call, there are a lot of options...

I'm all for the rumored Samuel + pick for Shawn Springs + 6th overall choice. Failing that, I see no need to move any of the two picks unless you're getting back already-established NFL talent.

The Pats will be in a very precarious position in the next few seasons - with all the aging and cap-number inflation - that having two first-round talents on the team at marginal costs is a very good thing.

Stay there, draft two solid young players, 1 LB, 1 CB. And hope that the redskins are stupid enough to make the deal BBJ brought up.

Yeah... I like Aaron Ross at 24 and Paul Posluszny at 28 or the other way around.

How big of a contract would the sixth pick get?

im not sure of the numbers , but in some cases theyre top midlevel, to low end top echelon contracts, will ut the player on par with anyone we have

I'd say keep them for now. Though depending how the draft goes, I wouldn't be shocked to see them trade the #24 for extra picks.

I would say landry. Levi Brown will be good, but not worthy of a 6th overall pick, in my oppinion. I could even see belicheck taking willis with that pick.

landry, but i have to reiterate how apprehensive they are about paying a rookie near pro bowl salary

As the draft gets closer, I am of the opinion that the best thing to do is to deal the 24th AND 28th pick and get out of the first round. Especially if they get to 24 and the Pats have no one rated with a first round grade (entirely possible). Someone of value and need would have to slip in the draft for me to want to stay (similar to what happened with Vince Wilfork). As it is you are getting a player just as good in the mid second as you would picking in their current positions. Plus you get extra picks either this year or next.

I think this draft is deep enough that the Pats could find definite year 2 starters at key positions if they stick with their two first-round picks. Dropping back would be a riskier proposition, especially given the team's multiple immediate needs.

If they do indeed stay at the 24th slot I would like to see them take Jon Beason. And at the 28th slot pick up Brandon Merriweather. That would be ideal. I don't think their will be a corner of 1st round value when they pick (not a fan of Ross or Houston).

For the firsts, I think it all depends on who falls... if a guy like Ginn were to fall, then I think we'd pick him (he came in for a private workout).
