A few Patriot tidbits

The pats have been a little active over the past few days:
-Matched Denver's offer sheet for Todd Sauerbrun.
-pretty good move, but does this mean that they think miller will not be the same after his injury? Or did they just bring him back for competition?
-Re-sign Wesley Britt
-Pats always need depth when it comes to the oline, so this was a good move.
-Randall Gay Visits Jets
-This is the one I found very interesting, do you think mangini would actually sign this guy to an offer sheet, and give up his second rounder?

1. That is great news... I know it's only a punter, but Todd can kick the ball like no one I have seen when it comes to punters...
2. Good move, like you said, it adds depth which is always a good thing to have...
3. We NEED to get Gay to the Jets.. If we could get the 59th pick for him we would be absolutely robbing them... We've gotta get that done...

I think belicheck calling mangini and talking up gay, would be a little suspicious. Doesnt look like it is happening anyway, I have seen two reports state that gay left without an offer sheet. Why did they waste there time bringing this guy in for a 2 day interview?

mangini knows gay better than belichick, mangini made gay.
as for your question, a lot of teams are starting to bring in players that they expect to hit unrestricted free agency in a year for early visits. advance scouting, showing what they have to offer, making an impression. i dont like it, but its smart.
