Pats to re-sign Seau...

Post#1 » by The Rondo Show » Sat May 12, 2007 10:13 pm

There will be no retirement speech from Junior Seau this summer.

A source familiar with the situation said last night that the veteran linebacker will re-sign with the New England Patriots late next week, pending a physical exam.

Seau, 38, signed a one-year deal with the Patriots last year

Love the signing. I really expected nothing from Seau last year but he proved he had plenty left in the tank and was just a beast against the run. Colvin, Bruschi, Seau, Vrabel, Thomas-- wow. That is some nice LB depth and skill right there.

This team is just loaded. Tons of top end talent and loads of depth at every position. Can't wait for the season to start.

Seau was much better than I thought he could be last season. So if he's back it's a good move.

Good move, he was playing great up until the injury. What I cannot wait to see is him playing for us against the Chargers! That is gonna be something.

This signing is nothing short of solid. He's old but he proved he coudl be affective before the injury last year. It shores up our depth at LB very well.

Seau can still play a very productive roll when used in spot situations.. he can play inside linebacker and the pats can move Thomas outside were he can cause more damage. LB depth is good.

With the depth they have, Seau could be utilized more effectively without putting too much of a workload on him.
