and now the Patriots will sign the ageless Vinny Testaverde, 43, who played in three games for New England in 2006.

Testaverde announced his intentions Friday on Sporting News Radio's The Tony Bruno Show. "I was up there for minicamp," he said. "The plan was to wait until two-a-days were over, then I was going to go on in there and join the team then."

Testaverde, who made his NFL debut in 1987 with Tampa Bay, has 270 touchdown passes and 45,281 yards passing in his career.

Good or not, it would be a sorry state of affairs if the Pats had to ever use a third string QB to start a game. Doesn't Testaverde have like a crazy record of 20 + something seasons throwing at least one Touchdown pass?

Yeah I'm sure in the last game of the season the Pats will try and get him a td.

Are you sure he's signed?
I haven't seen a transaction, and he's not even on the depth chart on the team's website
