Patriots signed LB Victor Hobson to a one-year contract, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter.
Hobson, a 2003 second-round pick, learned the Patriots' scheme under Eric Mangini with the Jets. He had six sacks and 100 tackles as an outside linebacker two years ago, but struggled in 2007. The Pats may be looking at Hobson as an inside 'backer. He has the size they value there at 6'0/252.
