With the NFL season officially over, it's time to look forward to this off-seasons moves to come.

That's quite the brutal list of free agents. I think re-siging guys like Big Vince, Faulk and Mankins are a must. I see jarvis bolting for New Orleans, closer to home. And Ben Watson, maybe to Denver. I really liked Bodden last year, and think he is a starting corner in the NFL. He probably won't come cheap though. I don't see many big additions this year other than the draft. Sounds boring, but if we could re-sign wilfork, faulk, bodden, and logan mankins, then that is a A+ offseason grade from me.

Couldn 't draw up a better replacement for Wes.

I like Branch at small money and Stallworth is a minimum salary guy.

I like the idea of Peppers but not the realities of it. I would rather a lesser talent with a higher motor. We need to get back to guys who play to win not for themselves. A pass rusher that pins his ears back on every down and understands that the pressure is as important as the sack. Peppers has not shown himself to be that guy.

When branch gets cut, sure. I'd take him back. Not on that current deal though.

This peppers thing just keeps heating up, I don't get it. I'm not craving BB to go sign a huge free agent. I don't think any fan is, they just want wilfork and others re-signed, and to not screw up your draft picks by trading them all down for a 2nd and a 4th or whatever. Trade up! Go get your stud pass rusher in the draft.

Although, Osi Umeynora (butchered the spelling there) could be available. I'd love to see the pats snag him up.

And antonio cromartie is on the market for a RB. Maroney and a pick for cromartie would be an awesome deal.

I'd be real careful with Peppers at the price he thinks he's worth. Esp. since he'll be changing positions.

I wouldn't touch Deion Branch anymore. Dude is extremely fragile. Bring him in and hope for the best but don't count on him for anything.

It sounds like Bodden will be back and he wants to come back.

I hope they get a deal done with Vince, I don't think it is going to be productive to just tag him and not try and get a contract done. Basically it is like waiving a flag telling everyone of your players to hold out and force a trade.

Somehow I just don't feel like that is the answer.

The Hampton deal should help the situation with Vince anyhow.

Mike Reiss had an interesting comment on the signing, said something like, if patten didn't have the great workout he did, the pats would have not signed him. So maybe he does have something left in the tank. He's 35, that's not too old.

If Peppers is turning down 14 mil per year then he is not coming to NE.

I like Derrick Mason and lord knows we need wideouts but we need a #2 if not a #1 a bunch of old 3's and 4's don't get it done.

I am definitely antsy going into this FA. I just don't have the feeling that the Pats are going to be as aggressive as they can be. This is not a deep pool of FA and there are not going to be any guys cut because of cap space this year. After the first couple of days it is going to be scraps.

In a surprising move, pats release baker. We're very thin on TE's, I wonder if one is coming via free agency (Owen Daniels) or via trade (Greg Olsen).

Vince resigned

The New England Patriots have paid big money to their big man in the middle by inking nose tackle Vince Wilfork to a five-year, $40 million extension today, according to a league source.

"We are pleased to say we will be here for many more years to come," Wilfork said on his Twitter account.

The deal includes an $18 million signing bonus and $25 million guaranteed, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The contract makes Wilfork the highest paid nose tackle in the NFL, provides him the long-term security he desires, and ensures the Patriots – hurt by the departures of several impact players in recent years – retain a key part of their defense.

Wilfork, who was assigned the franchise tag on Feb. 22, was called the team’s number one contractual priority by owner Robert Kraft.

Very happy to have Vince back but have a hard time with the Boldin situation, I hate grading Belichick before the test is over but I was starting to get used to the idea of him being a Patriot.

Yeah the Boldin situation hurts. The Ravens got him for pratically nothing. Randy Moss is gone next year and Boldin would have been a perfect replacemnet. They need an experienced WR and an experienced pass rusher and then they should be able to fix everything else through the draft. Right now our D-Line is Wilfork, Warren, Pryor, Wright, and Brace and our OLB's or Banta-Cain, and Ninkovich. That's scary to me. You need to sign some guys. There's no guarantee rookies are going to come in and turn this defense around. They need a couple veterans IMO.
