As much as I'd like to see Patriots go after a young running back in the draft, we haven't really had success drafting RBs in the immediate past. Obviously guys like Fred Taylor and co couldn't stay healthy. I always kind of hated LT after he called the orgnization classless... but would you guys be opposed to try to bring him in to strengthen the run game? Our inability to run the ball cost us a lot of games last year and we need to improve in this area.
If we go into camp next year with Laurence Maroney headlining the names in our backfield I would be utterly appalled. Last season was a make or break season and imo he broke... he's had his shot and he's done, time to move on.

Re: Tomlinson?
No he is toast and isn't the style of back they need. At 3.3 yards per carry he is less productive than all of the backs they have and the Pats are never going to run 60% of the time or have a line athletic enough to string out a play for the guy. We need to stick with guys who have the running style that fits the offense, guys who want turn it up inside and hit someone and don't need a ton of carries to get it going, and can block and catch the ball.
I like the guys we have just wish they could stay on the field. Used running back is not a good way to spend money, got to draft that guy. Maroney is just a #2 back the Pats just keep putting him in the #1 role.
