People continually say this is one of the deepest drafts in a long time. I disagree, albeit partly. I think it is a deep draft--- for bang or bust prospects. While there is certainly value to be had at pick 22, I prefer the flexibility that this deal provides. I also think the overall value of the 36th pick is approximately the same quality as that of the 22nd pick.
I think Rams are going QB in the 1st and they are likely taking Bradford. Whether they do that by trading down (Suh is good but who is going to pay out the kind of bread to move up even in an uncapped year?) or keeping the pick-- it doesn't really matter. If I am right, they are going Damian Williams at 33 (though Benn is a possibility but not a good fit, imo.)
I simply want to move around the draft board to get the highest rated player that I have targeted and not simply take the best available player. I realize that others have a different philosophy in this regard.

He is a first round talent. If employed properly, he brings an entirely different dimension to this team on offense. He also helps a ton in the return game.

Again, another first round talent. Dynamic after the catch, good in the return game and would slot into the #2 receiver job right now, imo.

A lot of other names are more sexy but I really like the strength in this guys hands. I think he could be a minor steal of the draft.

Perhaps a bit high but I have a sneaking suspicion that Belichick is on to Graham. Normally, a player with this kind of potential as a playmaker would not fall this far except for injury or the off the field issues. Graham has neither. He is a high-character guy with heaps of upside.
Botched Pick wrote:99 - from Rams - Joe Webb, WR, Alabama-Birmingham
In the same strain as Graham, I present QB-turned-WR Joe Webb.
6-3, 220+ lbs, 4.44 40-yard dash, 42" vertical, 11-5 standing broad jump.
Size, speed, explosive athletic ability. But did any of it show up in games? I would say yes. In his career, he rushed 516 times for 2774 yards and 24 TDs. He is an athlete and, while there will certainly be some growing pains, I think we could have a potential #1 to replace Moss after this season.

Sub-5.00, 300-pounder who put up 44 reps. I think he could be a lot like Myron Pryor in some regards and play both DE/DT in the Patriots system. Yes, he lacks a bit of height (6-1) but I think he could provide great depth on the line.

Developmental line prospect with tons of upside and the ability to stop the run. Could really grow into a very, very good player, perhaps borderline star.
Botched Pick wrote:229 - Zoltan Mesko, P, Michigan
I am almost certain the Pats are taking him but when exactly?
Botched Pick wrote:231 - Shelley Smith, OG, Colorado State
Developmental line prospect who could take over for Neal with some seasoning. The pass-blocking is there right now but he needs to improve as a run-blocker.
Botched Pick wrote:247 - (compensatory) - Sean Canfield, QB, Oregon State
Extremely accurate. Good size (6-3 3/4, 225) and mobile. Some injury concerns (throwing shoulder) but he still has enough arm strength and retained his accuracy after the injury. Could be a steal if he doesn't go too high.
Botched Pick wrote:248 - (compensatory) - Alfonso Smith, RB, Kentucky
I actually like RB Stafon Johnson (USC) at this pick but I want more of a speed threat. I am not as down on Maroney as many so I don't see the need to duplicate Maroney with another back that does many of the same things earlier in the draft. That is not to say I am pleased with Maroney just that I am not as convinced he is as ineffective as many proclaim.
Smith runs a sub-4.40, has decent size at 6-0, 209, has experience as a returner and, despite being a senior, should still have tons of life left in his legs moving forward because he wasn't used a ton (though he was somewhat productive when he did play.) Has a decent vertical and could possibly be developed into a David Givens-type receiver. At the very least, he is intriguing.
Botched Pick wrote:250 - (compensatory) - Scott Sicko, TE, New Hampshire
A lot of people may not know about him but at 6-4, 250+, running a 4.56 (perhaps a bit fast as he ran on a rubber surface) with a 35-inch vertical, that on itself is intriguing. He was also very productive, albeit at a lesser level, with 57 catches, 775 yards and 9 touchdowns. I think Jacksonville nabs him in the 6th round but we'll see.
