That's the player I've wanted since the draft lol. Sad to see they couldn't pull it off. Seems like the Raps turned down several good offers. Three 1st and 31? C'mon, he's not Durant.

I mean, take a look at 2 of the 3 1sts. They’d be 24 and 30, in all likelihood. Would you deal Turner for those picks? And no word on the 3rd possible pick. Could it have been lotto protected or something?
These reports get headlines, but they don’t tell the whole story.

I'm not sure how true these reports are
But I'm super relieved that the trade didn't happen
Would you pay 3 FRPs for someone like a young Covington?
If not, why would you do so for Anunoby?
Because Anunoby is basically Covington
Still a really great player to have, but he's overhyped
It would be a big mistake to trade Pacers 23 FRP for him

Yup reminiscent of the Hawks offering 4 firsts for PG and people saying Indy was insane to turn it down.Scoot McGroot wrote:boomershadow wrote:That's the player I've wanted since the draft lol. We very likely also wanted Toronto to eat salary as Theis would've had to been involved at a minimum.

I would say Turner for 3 late firsts seems pretty reasonable value, yeah.
He's not Durant either

You would deal Turner for 24, 30, and 31 in this draft? I wouldn’t consider that.

I get the attempt, but OG is MUCH better than Covington ever was. There were times I’d have dealt 2 1sts for Covington, so dealing 3 for the far superior OG makes a ton of sense.

Reasonable to assume two of those #1's were the Boston and Cleveland picks. Given where the team is now that mystery pick would have had to have some protection. I think the tweet also said the sticking point was the need for a player. If I'm then I'd have wanted Nemhard.
