We'll always get overlooked just because we're the Pacers. NY has star power but it comes at the cost of chemistry which IND is building on. Kind of like what DET did during the Billups-Rip-Prince-Sheed-BigBen days. And they beat a highly stacked and favored LAL team.
Don't get me wrong; I'd love it if we land a big name. But there's only one ball to go around and I like that our star is the type who shares the ball rather than play hero ball.

Yeah,.. I do think we get overlooked,... We have good balance,.. good depth,.. & great chemistry. I don't think we had the 'developed talent' to win the East last year,... but I'm not so sure about this year,.. and more likely next. I think we still have some room to grow from within, but would still put us behind the Celts & Knicks in terms of raw talent.
I think this makes the matchup with the NYK that much harder for the Pacers,... We don't have to plan for Randle,.. but Pascal matched up with Randle very well over his career. Now,.. Myles has to match up with KAT. I believe he can do it,... not only do it, but go toe-to-toe with the all-star. They both play all over the court. It will be interesting to see who wins the post when the Pacers defend? Myles defense or KAT's offense? Can Myles get enough foot quickness to guard KAT out on the floor when the Knick's switch?
If Myles can hold his own vs KAT? this could even help our matchups a bit? DD was difficult for us last year? Though it does seem like this means that Hart will start? OG wanted more of a role on offense,... looks like he's gonna get it!
Won't know till we see it? I'm really impressed with the Knicks FO this year. Can't do anything but respect the moves they've made.
Interesting impact on the matchup with the Celtics as well, with Porzingis potentially out, that has to give the NYK better side of the center matchup, probably even with Porzingis? Difference could come down to NYK having to trade DD? He matched up well with White?

How do you guys think this impacts the competition in the East? How does it change the matchup between the NYK & Pacers?.....
From what I’ve read the Knicks lineup would be
Mitchell Robinson
KAT
Anunoby
Bridges
Brunson
So which player does Siakam and Turner matchup with of their 2 bigs. Most likely Nesmith guards Anunoby. Tyrese and Nembhard are tasked with Bridges and Brunson.
First observation is that the Knicks are tall similar to the old Raptors lineup that killed us defensively. Knicks have enough offense to make up for Dante DiVencenzo in the starting lineup. Hart I guess will lead the second unit

So this website is a challenge again due to Adblock not working and it erases my post I’m typing.
It also was letting me save my post and add to it but on the previous post it wouldn’t
Stupid add blocker not working again. Help.
To finish my thoughts on the Knicks. Losing DiVencenzo helps the Pacers a bit but the Knicks have enough offense without him though. I think it will be harder to matchup with the Knicks starting lineup but I think the Pacers can have a slight advantage versus the second team.

In that lineup, I actually see Tyrese on Mitch. Hes not a post threat, and NY would likely love to P&R Brunson to get get Hali on him? I’d see Myles on KAT or Mitch too, with Siakam on OG. But, I think Andy wouldn’t worry about Mitch offensively, and stash someone else on him in the dunkers spot.

Anunoby and Brunson should both be Pacers the botched draft picks of TJ Leaf in 2017 and Aaron Holiday in 2018, could have been Anunoby and Brunson respectively.

CC did a couple of nice segments on this last year. How the Pacers were 'hiding' Tyrese on non-scoring centers because it stopped or extremely limited how the defense could switch scorers on him to hunt him, & take his energy making him try to work on defense.

I think you got this one exactly on,... & that's why I wondered how this group imagines us matching up with KAT now in the NTK fold. You can't 'hide' Tyrese on KAT,... nor OG,... nor Bridges,... nor Hart?.... you definitely aren't putting him on Brunson?.... Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't?.....

Of those guys, I'd put him on Hart without too much worry? Like, Hart went ham for a couple games, but he's not a huge concern in creation, shooting, or off the dribble. Next would be Bridges, who would be tough, but maybe the next "least bad matchup"?
