Tom are you happy with your Hoosiers basketball team so far this year ?

Seriously what's your opinion of IU basketball team this season so far ??

A) Woodson didn't get enough talent in

B) Woodson couldn't coach them even if he had enough talent and he needs to go

C) Both of above

D) Everything is ok in Hoosier land

Also AWESOME year for the football Hoosiers. I actually watched a few games and was very impressed with the play and the new coach. I hope he can recruit from this season’s success so they can beat Ohio State next season and raise their talent quality, depth, and national prominence.

I hope they can win vs Notre Dame but not sure if they can match up well enough not to get blown out ??

I'm still around. Alive and well. Or should that be alive and......well?

I've not posted because frankly I don't like this team (Pacers) for the most part. Never liked the coach and can't stand to watch a center who plays like he would rather be a ballerina. I'm really turned off by most of the NBA to be honest, to the point where I didn't bother watching even one Olympic games, and I'm not wasting time watching a team I don't like so the Pacers are not on my radar. Fact is, the entire NBA is off my radar.

Now, on to IU and your question. I'm afraid we are going to be the same as the last few seasons, where we can look good at times, but when playing any top tier teams we get our butts kicked. Royally kicked. Always liked Woody as a player, and he is likely a good man, but he isn't getting it done. The NIL era of college ball has been a disaster in my mind. You can tell many players are not much more than mercenaries these days. Not enjoyable at all.

IU football is so much fun that neither the Pacers nor IU basketball can spoil it.

I do have more hope for IUBB than the Pacers because at least they have shooters this year after several years with none. also I think Woody has a better record of getting guys ready for the pros than winning games and that can't hurt recruiting freshmen and transfers.

I expect IU football's success in 2025 will depend more on transfers than freshmen. he basically red shirted this year's freshmen and will probably try to do that again. It does look like we're recruiting against big time programs after years of recruiting against the MAC but we're still not getting 5 star prospects.

I asked my brother who’s an IU fan and season ticket holder back in the Woodson era and his reply was that he’s ok with everything. I tend to think you’re more informed than he is currently. He’s become more of a fair weather fan now I guess so since they’re winning he’s ok watching the Hoosiers.

As for me I’ve lost the caring to watch college basketball because of the Hoosiers decline after Bobby Knight. Tom Crean era was the last time I watched more than one game. I also watched ZERO Olympic events. Nada.

Somehow in my older years I’ve found the ability/gift to make sports much less important than as a teen through young adulthood.

I still hold on to the Pacers and the Colts as the Reds and Hoosiers have become unimportant. The Pacers team this season is so hard to watch. I hope next season it can get back to a fun/interesting team to watch and support.

Thanks Wizop. I so hope that the new coach Cig can recruit top athletes and that Michigan and Ohio State lose the allure and excitement for athletes in our area. I agree that he has to rely on transfers for a few years to continue building a strong team until a solid foundation is in place.

I'm a bandwagon Hoosiers fan. By that i mean i have no favorite, i enjoy watching Syracuse bc they're local, but before i was on this board i was on the Indy Star message board and then here all the Hoosier talk got me to root for them and i still do to this day.

Didn't watch too much of tonights game bc of the Pacers game but the players i like most on IU have been Ballo and Bryson Tucker. I see he wasn't great today though. Too bad Mackenzie Mgbako got into foul trouble early on. I watched the first minutes and he had 2 fouls in the first 33 seconds. Looking at the box score now, he has 2pts and 3reb. Too bad, this is the type of game guys like him and Reneau need to be key contributors.

I have not liked Rice this season but tonight seems to have a great game.

I think Kanaan Carlyle is under used by Woodson. He's a fantastic talent, good pace, shifty, great defense. Tonight he shot very poorly though.

OK,... yes,.. I am a nerd. I found this really interesting. Had a physics professor who did a lecture on the physics of basketball. Very useful. Used some of his lesson's with youth teams & they really seemed to help.

I saw Neil deGrase Tyson a few years ago at the Old National Center (Marat) and part of his presentation was to show why high arching basketball shots were more likely to go in than flat ones. He also showed why using the backboard helped.
