I’m not sure what prompted the change of responsibilities within the coaching staff. Jenny Boucek is now in charge of the defense per Carlisle. I also don’t know what the order or rank and roles are now currently in effect other than Carlisle is head coach, Lloyd Pierce is still lead assistant coach, Jenny Boucek is defensive coach and is one of the top 4 front row assistants. I think Weiner is now in the second row of assistants possibly in charge of replay decisions and Boylen is on the front row. I see Jannero Pargo and the other two assistants are all listed as player development.

I welcome any other insight on their roles and ranking if it’s out there.

Here's an older article by Scotto (Nov 24) about the Pacers coaching staff,...

I did hear an interview with Coach Boucek,... where she was explaining that the assignments are specifically set in stone,... that one coach may do the scouting for one opponent,... with another doing offensive focus,... another defense, but it's not always the same coach doing the same thing? if that makes any sense?

Yeah, they've always talked about the coaching staff being super flexible and everyone does everything. I think it's just that there's an assistant "coordinating" all the input on each side of the ball, but not specifically dictating everything about that side of the ball? If that makes sense? Boucek is also constantly mentioned by the PG's and specifically referencing people's shooting improvements.

Isn't Jenny responsible for the defense?

I wonder if any of our assistants will get head coaching offers for next year.

Not sure who is assigned where,... but Jim Boylen was the guy that developed our base defense & fundamentals,... I think (key words), that all the assistants work something on each opponent, but not a specific area, if that makes sense?.... both Coach Boucek & Coach Carlisle, in interviews (and in the youtube link I posted above) referred to Coach Boyle as 'a defensive genius',.... so pretty sure he's the basic strategy guys,... also pretty sure that the tactical adaptations are done by who has that assignment for that opponent?

Yeah,... Coach Boucek definitely does the work with improving the shooting,... as does Coach Carlisle. I think you are right on the PG's as well? whether that's a specific duty or not,..idk?... :dontknow: but I do know, that she was the coach that helped TJ and Drew both modify their games to fit the team,... and improve their overall games & confidence. Both have said so, clearly, in interviews,...
