JJ Redick

Post#1 » by pacershereiam » Thu Jan 31, 2008 12:19 am

His agent is trying to get a trade to happen. He would be cheap to get. I would like to have JJ be in our starting lineup with Tinsley, Granger, Dunleavy, Oneal.

His agent is exploring trade opportunities, but I don't see where he fits with this current squad. Kareem Rush has just as sweet of an outside shot and plays defense, Diener can handle the ball and is a similar type of player (impressive shooter, not a lot of D). Maybe if some things change though.

I'd like to get Reddick on the cheap (Harrison).

Small lineup much?

We don't need Redick to enter our mess of g/fs (not mentioning race) that all play the same position and don't necessarily fit with the new system (often inconsistent). If we start defining our lineup with players that are good at one position and can play others, as opposed to players who are decent at best at a few, then Redick would be a match.

Anything for Harrison is good value.
Green (Min), West (Sea) JJ (Orl)
I'll take any of these....

I would prefer Green out of the three...but anything for Harrison is a steal

If you read the wiretap piece a little closer, you'll see that Otis Smith has no intention of dealing Redick.

I would hate to see JJ in a Pacers uniform. He is the biggest choke I've ever seen. Every year the Blue Devils would be favorites in March and he would choke and they'd lose. I'm a Tar Heel fan, so I am obviously a little biased, but his defense doesn't suck(that would require him playing defense), he chokes in big moments, and hes less athletic than Kareem Rush. What would be the point of adding a poor mans Rush to a position thats extremely deep?

While i'm not going to start argueing about West or other guards we can get, i highly doubt Indiana is in any room to make deals for younger players, esspicially with this draft class being loaded with guards. Indiana is in rebuilding mode and we are far from a good product and dealing peices (it would take a good youth player to land West) for our future to get a young PG wouldn't make too much sense right now. Besides, Harrison for Reddick? Seattle would laugh and hang up the phone.

For this season...we have no room for Reddick even if we wanted him.

When it's the offseason.....depending on whether we resign Rush or not ( which I think is a 50/50 chance )....I would revisit whether we should try for Reddick or not.

He would be a very solid rotational player that actually fits what we are trying to do. But if we could resign Rush for a reasonable 2 year contract...I would go with Rush before going with Reddick.
