I agree w/ the fact that we may only be able to get something similar to what Memphis got for Gasol... In fact, IDK if we'd even get that much. The only reason I remain slightly optimistic is b/c I think Larry is gonna pull a better-than-expected deal for JO that could potentially be a franchise-changing event, so stay tuned...

Also, realize that Shaq is Shaq, and like what was said before, he is one of the greatest of all-time. I liked the deal that Kerr made, and knowing the Diesel, he's probably gonna pull something off in PHX, playing next to a hungry Grant, a renewed Amare, and a 2-time MVP in Nash.

Speaking of Miami, that may be our best trade partner right now for JO or any player we're looking to move. Since Riley is hinting at Wade and Marion being the new MJ and Pip, then Foster could easily come in as the new Rodman, w/o the dress and makeup, of course.

The only hesitation I have about dealing with Miami is making Miami a title contender. I mean what if, against all odds JO has a JO year and stays healthy? We would be geting Dequan Cook, a few expiring contracts and a pick for a guy who goes for 19/9 and helps the Heat, along with Wade and Marion become a contender once again. If that situation were to play out I would be sick.

My point is we have to be careful about dealing with JO, especially within the Eastern Confrence.

Who cares if we make Miami a contender, it's not like we're going to be one. Unless you just really hate Miami that much, then I can understand. I hate Miami, but not enough to let that bother me. I just want to get the best deal possible out of JO, I don't care where he goes.

I would be hesitant for the same reason the Lakers didn't wanna trade Shaq to the West a few years back. I don't want to be the team to help make a conference rival a title contender.
