Since Bobby Knight resigned out of the blue, and now there's talk about Sampson getting canned by Indiana for doing the same stuff he did while at Oklahoma. 2day, there's been talk about Knight possibly returning to the Indiana Hoosiers. I've heard that there's been 2 sides of Hoosier fans...those who still worship Knight & those who's glad he's gone.
Positives about Knight-he runs a clean program & doesn't do them violations like certain colleges in sports be doing. And he cares about the players going 2 class, if they don't they don't play.
Negatives, well I probably don't have 2 mention that. Hoosier fans probably even know some that's not talked about it.
Well which side are you on? Would you rather have a coach who could win right now but does violations or a coach like Knight with his attitude who hasn't won in 20+ years but doesn't do violations?

thats not fair to say about the all time winningest coach in NCAAM history, trust me he can still win games...
and idk how i feel about this...i wouldn't be happy or mad if he came back...our recruiting probly wouldnt take such a hit if he did...so i just wont vote...

I am gonna hate myself for saying this, but......
IF IU let Sampson go (or "suspended" him) like the rumors have us doing - as early as tomorrow by some - then YES, I would offer Bobby the opportunity to come back & coack out this year.
It would be w/ the understanding that this would be a way to end things as they could/ should have, & at the end of the year we would go in a new direction. IF coach would accept that, then YES. (This could be a great opportunity for all to have thenending everyone wanted & deserved, & provide Peace to all.)
IF he said "F-U", got all "High-n-Mighty", or wanted to jam Pat down our throats as our next coach, then "F-Him". Either way IU denies all contact if the agreement above is not met & genuinely accepted by all parties for what it is - fixing the past - a truely rare opportunity for all (IMO).

I'd definitely welcome Bobby back, but IDK if the players would feel the same. They all seem to really, genuinely love Sampson, and if Knight came back, they'd probably see it as him just coming back for the spotlight, or grandstanding, or just to get back at some of his critics. Either way, if Sampson is fired, and we did want Bobby back, I'd actually have to offer him at least a 2-yr deal, just so it wouldn't look like a PR move.

The only scenario I would want Bob Knight back is as follows: Sampson is fired immediately. The university reaches out to Bob Knight and asks him to coach the remainder of the season, and only the remainder of the season. Let Knight retire at the end of the season as a Hoosier, the way it should have happened. Look for a new coach over the summer with our hands wiped clean of Kelvin Sampson.

I think Bobby effectively burned his bridges here in Indiana when, after he left and encouraged IU fans to riot intensely in Bloomington and a civil war in his honor damn near broke out, he essentially told ESPN that IU fans could go "f- themselves and that everyone up there in Indiana is lacking and worthless as fans" when compared to Texas Tech fans.
Bobby Knight has said it himself that his only regreat in his career is that he didn't leave IU about 5 years earlier and on his own terms. I highly doubt he'd come back and leave about 13 years too late.

+1
Mr. Knight has burned his bridge at IU. He is not the only person that can coach and it is the job of the current administrators to find that person.
