Tinsley done for year

Post#1 » by count55 » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:27 am

Well, it's official.

Apparently, the results of an MRI taken Friday made the decision for Droopy. He finishes the season with just 39 games played, undoubtedly causing his trade value to skyrocket heading into the offseason.

Woohoo! We could probably get a lifetime of those synthetic balls the NBA tried out l/y... I've never felt or used one! The Org could give them away at games!

Or maybe we can buy some stock in Bear Sterns! I hear that company's about to take off...

See, heres what I dislike about Tinsley. He misses so many more games than he needs to, whats his injury again, isn't it something with his ankle? Tywon Lawson had a high ankle sprain and missed 4-6 games. Tinsley hurt his ankle, continued to play through it, and now he can't? He has no heart, if he could play through it for a little while, taking 30 games off should be enough. Taking 10 games off should be enough. He doesn't care, he always goes out with minor injuries and missed huge chunks of the season because he doesn't work on coming back. He is such a good player to, sucks that he wasted all that talent. He is officially the next Johnathon Bender in my book. Every year its, "oh but next season he'll be healthy", I've been saying it for too long now, just release him and take a salary hit, he's not good PR wise or locker room wise.

JO on the other hand shows he has heart, he wants to be playing. He got the raw end of this deal with his knee's but at least he cares. I think sitting out 30 games could be the best decision he has made in his career. He's always been on the go with USA championships in the offseason and so on. This was the first time he truly gave his knee some time to rest as oppose to time to just heal(yes theres a difference). I hope this time he will come back healthy for good, and if not, at least I know he wants to be on the court and will do whatever it takes to get back on it.

Knee.

Funny how we want JO to rest for a 100% knee, and don't want Tins to rest for a 100% knee.

Harrison love in that article btw. I love it.

Agreed. Hopefully this ends his Pacers career.

I actually don't question the fact that he's hurt. I don't think he's faking it or dogging it, and that's the problem. I was hoping he could get another 70-game season under his belt at 14-8-2(stls) so he'd at least have some value.

Leave all of the other stuff out of it: Off-court, shot selection, attitude...even if that were all perfect, we simply can't wait for this guy to be a 75+ game per year player for us anymore.

I agree with the above posts. I'd be perfectly happy never seeing Tinsleberries in a P's jersey again.
