No one's giving up Derrick Rose for Danny Granger, let's just get that out of the way now.

Granger might get the #3 pick, but he sure as heck wouldn't get the #1 or #2 pick from any team in this draft.

Before I start let me apologize because this is probably the wrong thread to discuss this in the first place. All we would have to do is sweeten the deal a little bit ....Danny and the 11? Danny and an expiring... You did see that Riley is already considering trading the pick away right?

Danny and the 11 would be a starting point. It still wouldn't be close enough.

Pat Riley is just posturing. He's going to see if he can get Carmelo for the pick and bad contracts or see if he can get an amazing deal. He's not going to, and he's going to end up taking whomever Chicago doesn't take.

I most certainly agree.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a very tough 5 years or so for this franchise.

I dont think there's any way he trades that pick. Technically, he cant even trade it until June 30th (the Heat traded away their first rounder next year to Minny). I think if it were to happen, and Rose were the pick, it would take at LEAST Granger, whoever we pick at 11 for them, Foster (expiring), and at least one future first rounder.

Riley's just posturing. He'll hold onto that pick and take whoever the Bulls don't.

I'm not expecting a Miami-Indiana trade on draft night, and I'm not convinced bout Miami's willingness to give up the no.2 spot.

I mean, Beasley or Rose can be as good as any other all-stars (well probably in their soph years in this league I guess).

I'm thinking maybe Larry would like to pursue the 4-7 picks? I mean, we can give up J.O. or Tinsley (and not Granger) for a useful vet and a higher draft pick.

You know the more I look at this draft the more I think that this is the draft to do anything to get a second 1st round pick. I'm not even convinced it has to be very high. I would love it if we could get Orlando's pick for Tinsley but I don't think they would give us Cook, Reddick, and a 1st. But I think if we can get ANY pick in the top 25 we are going to be able to find a future starter. This draft was made for talent to drop to the lower picks.

Agreed, I think Jeff Foster could get us that. Maybe if we package Foster with Tinsley, Foster would be good in Orlando next to Howard. They would get 2 potential starters out of the deal.
